8 months into this Pandemic and I still cannot wrap my head around why masks are so controversial. I wear mine for 10 hours a day and often times find myself forgetting it’s on.

When I went to get my flu shot last week, I asked the pharmacist how it was going. She said she thought mask were going to help and they had dispensed less drugs so far this year than in the past. Its just not as contagious as covid. What is everyone’s thoughts on the flu almost completely disappearing around the world?
According to GA DPH we have 3599 as of Oct 17 of Flu cases, we had 6028 at this same time last year. So it is definitely down, but by no means gone....there are a few states moving into the "yellow" area of concern. It is pretty early for Flu activity, so I think we still see a good bit of it, but hopefully there are some levels of decrease due to mitigation efforts. What is everyone’s thoughts on the flu almost completely disappearing around the world?

Nah. The same people bitching now would still be bitching.Because when you go from “masks don’t help” to “WEAR MASKS OR YOU WILL KILL GRANDMA AND IM GONNA MAKE YOU DO IT”, you tend to get a little backlash.
Had they said from the beginning to wear a cloth mask because it may help some, there would be little problem.

I've seen the sameHavent read much into it yet, but seeing a lot of things online here and there that shown the Southern Hemisphere really didn’t have a flu season.
Because matbe they don’t stop the spread of viruses, they are symbol of tyranny from a corrupt government, they obscure a persons humanity and identity and foster a sense of collectivism that is very dangerous. I don’t ever wear a mask and often forget about them until I see some bozo wearing them around the office or in their car.8 months into this Pandemic and I still cannot wrap my head around why masks are so controversial. Calling people who wear masks "bozos" is hardly better than the other "negative" things you listed above.Because matbe they don’t stop the spread of viruses, they are symbol of tyranny from a corrupt government, they obscure a persons humanity and identity and foster a sense of collectivism that is very dangerous. Out of the 524 pages in this thread so far, this has to be the most bizarre conspiracy-laced post I have seen. You can choose not to wear one all you want but everyone else has a right to protect themselves in whatever way they choose so long as it does not harm others.Because matbe they don’t stop the spread of viruses, they are symbol of tyranny from a corrupt government, they obscure a persons humanity and identity and foster a sense of collectivism that is very dangerous. You win the internet 'well said' award for the month.Calling people who wear masks "bozos" is hardly better than the other "negative" things you listed above.
The danger to society isn't collectivism created by mask-wearing. It's the collective acceptance of broad generalizations of one group by another group of like-minded individuals: Mask wearers are bozos. Democrats want to murder babies. Republicans hate the poor. Trump supporters are scum. Police are bad. Black people are this. White people are that. Rich people don't deserve to be rich. Poor people just need to stop being lazy.
This tribalistic reconstruction of our society, fueled by a corrupt government, an agenda-driven media, and a network of social media platforms, which attract a multitude of unstable people in need of emotional massaging and likes, is the real danger that we face. Critical thinking, understanding, compassion, objectivity, and love are replaced by blame, anger, and malice toward those we should care about and support. Self-worth deteriorates, along with personal responsibility and hope, and it all gives way to hate and violence. And that, my friend, is where we are right now. And it makes me sad.
Was it this one?Sadly my friend says they've pulled the plug on her antibody study. She thought it was helping but guess not.
