Coronavirus (Stay on Topic)

There’s been several studies and cases showing permanent lung and heart scarring, hopefully the President can avoid that but it may be harder at his age and health.

Standing up this time.

Even though I’m not a fan, good to see the president up and about. I hope he learned from this if the worst is truly behind him. Maybe he has a new outlook on the dangers of Covid.

The dexamethasone use puts him in the 7-12 day time frame and not the day 4 time frame, which is the official timeline. So still some questions about when he got it...

Steroids also make you feel stronger than you are, put pep in your step, so to speak. People love taking steroids because it makes them feel better, no matter the illness. You can feel like hell and steroids almost make you symptomless.... So while he seems great, I hope he’s not doing too much too early! He seems a little winded but not too bad.

With that said I actually want him to improve. Him dying covid would not help our country right now, despite what many think.

Thank you for sharing this info, it’s very helpful. Question: if the 4 day timeline is correct, does the early use of Dex due to severe symptoms early bode badly for when he *does* get to 7-12 days, or is it just impossible that he is only at 4?

Some are saying the reason they showed up late to the debate on Tues is the debate committee didnt have time to do a test, which they required, this was on purpose to prevent a 3rd party they could not control from testing Trump who may have already been feeling a little ill.....and the debate committee decided to allow Trump to debate anyways. Obviously its speculation.....also seeing reports Trump tested positive on a rapid test Thur morning but they waited till a more in depth test positive came back. Either way Trump went to the NJ fundraiser KNOWING he was likely positive for Covid.

So if any of this is true then Trump most likely contracted the virus sometime late last week into last weekend....most likely at the Rose Garden event on Sat for ACB. which would put him 8 days in.....

Dex use, when used correctly, would assume a 7-12 day time frame at this moment and a mortality rate of around 1 in 4, or 25%.

If it’s being used earlier on day 4, the mortality rate isn’t likely that high but we don’t know, because that’s not how it was studied.

Since dex was used, we can assume he’s further along and it’s not Day 4. Due to possible gaps in testing, compounded by the fact that false negatives are possible, it puts him further along than the official time frame. Because of that, he could be on the mend earlier and getting past his most severe symptoms.

Using dex bodes worse for *everyone* who gets it because the rationale behind using it means you’re more severe. But because the timeline is off it’s hard to say. It’s anyone’s guess because the press conferences are very vague and don’t go into medical decisions or rationale.

Also him parading outside doesn’t give us many hints either. As I said earlier, dex use doesn’t mean you’re actively dying or even bed bound. He’s likely in the 7-12 day period where symptoms can improve then go downhill or continue to improve. Hopefully for his sake it’s the latter!

I don’t intend to take this off course, but should a man on this steroid have control of the nuclear codes? It’s a serious question.

It seems like there would be protocols in place that would check/counter someone who is under the influence of medication, when it comes to decisions in which the fate of all humanity hangs in the balance. I don't feel a lot of apprehension over this, but that's just me. Maybe I'm naive.

I don’t either, but everyone responds to medications differently.

I used this as a medic for reducing intra-cranial pressure along with Mannitol in a few closed head/spinal injuries.

I wouldn’t be worried because of dexamethasone alone. However, if he does start getting worse and is required to be in bed and on more medication, at his age he could get ICU related delirium...something I’ve seen in person on rounds in the ICU. If he’s ever at that point, it’s likely Pence would be sworn in as he’d be medically incapacitated. Outside of intubation, that’s the only other thing I could see leading to a transfer of power.
