Is that because it is winter there?

Not sure, maybe it was just inevitable, especially when neighboring countries like Chile and Brazil have seen so much spread. I think some of it was just because after their initial hard lockdown, they had to start opening up over time and then cases spiked.

Deaths are still relatively low in Argentina (94 deaths per million compared to the USA’s 492, Brazil’s 464, Peru’s 619, etc.), but they’re on the wrong track.

There seems to be a growing trend towards violence among these anti-mask folk. Ask someone to comply with a mask mandate and they go super-psycho. 2,000 COVID deaths in past 24 hours for the U.S. I wonder if it’s a blip or we stay up there for a while.

Regarding masks, one can certainly make the case that NC has stabilized since our mask mandate but it’s impossible to know if the two are related.

I just found out my cousin is in the hospital with Covid. He is an avid mask wearer. He has yet to eat at a restaurant since the beginning of the pandemic. Who the hell knows where he got it. Also, he is extremely overweight so that is alarming. I will keep you guys updated on the treatments/medications that the doctors use.

A couple of things. First, this is nothing new. We've known this for quite some time. It's very likely the reason why there are so many asymptomatic cases and many less severe cases. Many of us have been exposed to other coronaviruses. Secondly, what does this have to do with our governor?
