I find it simply unbelievable that my grandpa has basically completely recovered from covid (other than oxygen at times after a walk) he had 10 mini strokes when he was at the hospital and 4 major ones in his life including the Covid one, and a few heat strokes, and is still able to do things like walk, speak clearly, use the bathroom on his own, I find that to be mind boggling

Some folks are just tough as nails, and blessed! Great News!

That’s what I highlighted in my initial response but your response sounded like you wanted people to wear it at the Western Sizzlin’ table ?‍♂️
In North Carolina, hospitalizations drop for the fourth consecutive day (though are still higher than Monday last week, so...) and reported positive tests are the lowest thus far for the month of July. There’s also recently been some decline in the test positivity rate over the last week or so. Maybe the mask mandate is starting to make its presence felt? Good news? Maybe a bit premature, but something to monitor.

Maybe premature. In Pitt county they had to cut testing sites significantly because of backlog and heat issues. Some sites were closed all together.

Tested over 26,000 yesterday according to NCDHHS... testing totals seem to be fairly stable over last two weeks... (understand that Pitt might be an anomaly, but at least across the state that doesn't seem to be playing out)

--------. It is about safety. No one gives a damn about Trump and his sycophants thinking this is all a ploy to get him voted out. As someone who has NO IMMUNE SYSTEM due to Lymphoma, I’m glad they’re taking their time.
“SaFeTy”

I also have a weakened immune system due to T1D.

On one hand i’m happy the schools are closed so that the education system will lose a year of conditioning our kids but on the other hand it’s time to open up and let the BIG DOG EAT!

Kudos to your grandpa, nothing but will to live! My 93 year old grandpa had Diabetic ketoacidosis in a rehab facility because they weren’t giving him his diabetic medication. It lead to bacterial pneumonia in both lobes, and he had a heart attack. All in the same day when I visited him and noticed his respiratory rate was elevated and his heart rate at rest was 135 and I called EMS. The nurses didn’t care. They said if the family wants an ambulance to come they can call. Wtf? I’m so glad I went that day as I went months without seeing him sometimes (regrettably). I’m not super religious but god was watching over him that day, no doubt in my mind. I was told to go see him....He’s still fighting today, in hospice but can still do a lot on his own at 95!

You have good genes! It must make you proud to see him. I know I am proud of my WWII vet still fighting!

16 days later and I finally have my CVS Covid test results...Positive..this was 10 days after my initial positive test when I was feeling 100% better.

Thank god I went to the DHEC testing site last Wednesday and got my negative results in only 2 days so I could return to work this week.
