Today featured the highest nationwide COVID-19 death toll in over a month. It’s after a long holiday weekend, though, so somewhat expected with the longer than normal weekend backlog. Still, the decline in deaths seems to be slowing towards more of a plateau now. We’ll see what tomorrow holds.
Not true. Deaths are still trending down. Look at Europe .
But some guy with a convincing tone on you tube told me I would die from cabon dioxide poisoning.
Looking into the data from AL tonight. Two things glare out at me. Firstly is the rise of cases in the two younger groups. The second is the lack of correlation to the younger groups infecting the older, with both of the older groups continuing to trend down. Based on that, unless the hospitals become overrun, it wouldn't surprise me to see deaths fall in AL over the coming weeks. The good news as well is the hospital/ICU ratio also continues to widen. I'm guessing the same is true of many of the southern states.
I don’t see any older groups trending down, I’m using the same website as you. They’re rising at a slower rate but the slope is obviously positive and not trending down.
Cumulative cases are going up and so are deaths in the older group. Cumulative Deaths haven’t plateaued yet and they must plateau before we start talking about deaths falling. The 7-day average death rate has plateaued at this point and has been since Memorial Day but would like to see those cumulative deaths in the elderly level out of you’re right.

If it’s coming I can see it happening within the next couple weeks as some schools start back August 3rd. Our county which hasn’t been hit nearly as bad as other metro counties is leaving masks optional on the bus and in buildings as of right nowAtlanta is going to mandate masks later today.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Augusta is not far behind them. Then probably a week or so later, you'll see Georgia mandate masks.
These Hospitals still get govt or ppl money for corono coded hospitalizations or deaths. Wasnt it like $40,000 fed money for each death or something like that
It’s good money for the hospitals. Unfortunately we will never know what the true numbers are and will be.These Hospitals still get govt or ppl money for corono coded hospitalizations or deaths. Wasnt it like $40,000 fed money for each death or something like that
