I used to, then sports gambling was legalized in NC...My god, theres nothing that can make you stay calm till the very last second and expect the worst than that, this is nothing lol

I totally understand,
At least this is free but it's so infrequent or rare it's what makes it special!
 
Ain’t the hour 84 nam like the 384 gfs? Also won’t the nam supposed to be retired what happened?
 
Hands up if you remember the January 1973 Ice Storm in Athens/Atlanta area. We had 4" ice in some places and we were without power for a week.
 
I obviously don't expect anything similar to then for the southern end or even myself, but it does not need to be well below freezing for ice to cause a mess.

2/12/14 for the Augusta locale was just around 30-32 for the entire storm I'm pretty sure, and it produced a disaster damage wise that wasn't topped until Helene in late September last year.

The main thing with temps closer to freezing is you may not get it dressing on the grass and roads (although if you get IP to start, this may not be the case), but it doesn’t have as much bearing on the trees. I think cold temps leading up to the event will make accretion ore efficient, as well. Don’t get me wrong, you’re going to “waste” more liquid with 30-32 than 25-29, but you can still get a sizable storm. Those ZR maps are always unrealistic since they seem to bank on every bit of liquid freezing on contact, though.
 
I suggest many here go ahead and start looking for their next storm.
The snow gods were angered with the trolling about Dallas losing out their epic chance.
 
Verbatim, the ICON looks pretty great here, BUT I would be straddling the line in a very uncomfortable way and that usually ends in more mixing than expected. But beggars can’t be choosers?
