In years past, we've joked about non-scientific weather signs like the Woolly worm or thunder in winter. We've also mentioned things like not wanting a storm around Halloween and no SC snow in November. Well here's another one; you don't want a cool down in middle or late August. If so, September turns/stays hot right into to early October. Why do I say this? Just seems from memory that if the eastern US develops an early trough pattern, it bounces back to a ridge for all of September. **I guess we'll see real soon if this has any life in weather lore.Ah, the signs summer is slowly coming to a end View attachment 46391
Yeah, if we do end up cooldown, I'm not getting excited. I still consider us in the summer, so why waste the cool air this time of year, only for September to be hot. If this year is anything like the last several, we won't see any real fall weather until early-mid October. In years past, we've joked about non-scientific weather signs like the Woolly worm or thunder in winter. I'll take it because regardless September into Oct will be hot anyway in our new normal. Just like winter will always be above normal regardless of what the fall does.In years past, we've joked about non-scientific weather signs like the Woolly worm or thunder in winter. Tomorrow you’ll say the only thing that will save you from drought, will be a tropical system and no rain till March! ??Not too excited about rain chances around here today. NWS lowers from 60% to 50 to now 40 over the last 2 days. They'll lower from 40 to 20% as the day advances.
And I like how the models show copious rainfall amounts but they have the bulk of it past D10. Kind of reminds me of fantasy snowstorms.

It will never end. It was 100 degrees last October so I'm sure it's just back building for the long haul.Ah, the signs summer is slowly coming to a end View attachment 46391
