I mean we are getting to the point where we may have already seen the hottest days of summer. Insane.

Looks like a dry 5-7 maybe 10+ days to start the month . Guess ill be looking for another matthew or cutoff low to alleviate drought conditions in the mid to late fall

Nooooooooooo! I don't like to even hear that 7 letter word! It caused a huge mess here. Have all of the cutoff lows you want though!

Hell, maybe if the trough sets in the central plains, we could possibly get a southerly flow , and bring the Carolinas some rain?? Nah, probably just hammer AL and TN , again!

GSP discussion , they seem excited about good rain chances Thu-Sun!
Waiting on Shetley to comment ..3,2,1...

Man I never imagined the first week of August that Dallas may fail to get much above 90 but the Euro says it will happen lol

This is historically the hottest week of the year, its been 110 degrees before... even the average is about 97.

and I leave for Seattle Thursday where it will be near or above 90 for 3 days. Never imagined that either  At least it should be fairly nice on Mount Rainier Sunday lol

I'm all ready for my 80s on Christmas Day for the third year running :p

We have to pay the piper for two cool weekends in a row! :(
I'm sure no rain will come with the death ridge! We can't win!

Whats up with central gulf convection spin? lol

SAV tied its record low of 66 this morning! There have only been a few record lows the last few years. So, this was a nice thing to see.

Lots of talk on the tropical update blog over there at Jeff Master page about the central gulf blob. Saying wind shear is currently dropping in the gulf and if thunderstorms continue over night then we could get a low percentage of development. Often at tail ends of troughs you can see a quick spin up with 24\48 hrs if shear low enough.

Bring it on! I see nothing but rain coming in 2 days onward for the Southeast. Hoping it rains more over you guys up there in the Carolinas!
Its looking like the 7-14 day period could be quite wet with a SW flow aloft and the west atlantic ridge keeping fronts close to the region instead of plowing offshore

Both the GFS/Euro agree on Dallas getting over 5 inches of rain before August 10th...

we average less than 2 inches this month...

Shetley has been quiet, it gone rain! :)

There's a better chance of me finding a GF than there is of rain. Meaning it won't rain.

Actually though it does look wet over the next couple of week. IF we get that southwest flow and stalling fronts, that 4-8 over GA and the Carolina's could happen.

I'm glad Jack-leg July is over !! That sucked!! On to big hopes for Ass-tastic August

From the 4th-16th, everyday there is a 60% or greater chance of precip! What could go wrong?

I guess we could be worse off, Seattle is forecast to be 97 degrees today and 106 for Portland! A lot of people out there, don't have A/C

I love how the rain total does change on the GFS but the start time gets further and further away.

Dangle that carrot
There's no carrot to dangle, the garden shriveled up and died! :)
