It's shutting off for a lot of areas if this map is correct. It looks like the tropics have moved to the Desert Southwest.
It's in the top 5% of the suite next Friday and Saturday. It's absolutely going to get hot but probably need to pump the brakes on all time records right now

I don't know, I don't live in a rural area. I grew up in Durham. No way would I live there again. I like going to the Durham Bulls games, but that's about it. Sorry you took it so personal that the gun violence there is ridiculous.

Today was the nicest day for outdoor activities we've had in at least two weeks in Southern Wake County. I took advantage of it to get some yardwork done. It looks like the grass I cut will take its time growing back with no precipitation in sight for at least the next ten days unless
a tropical system were to get organized and head in our direction. The air felt great this morning with the lower dewpoints and we had a nice breeze earlier but that has died down this evening.
