The upper level pattern seems very similar to November 2021.

BTW, a ton of smoke/dust has blown in from the NW as sunset approaches, making for hazy skies.
Very problematic pattern for severe wx with flat 500mb flow across the southern plains/SE past d7

Yep. That 500mb flat flow has also produced notable/significant tornadoes in the past, just takes some sort of wave that’s lower amped to create low level flow more out the south
Yep and the longer it goes on the more instability will be readily available.

That’s a semi-interesting look with that tongue of cape sticking out . Even a convective response on the GFS.
