Observations 2023 Obs Thread

Although we've been dealing with persistent convective debris the past week or so, temps have been solidly in the 80s. Seeing what's happening out east in the Carolinas and TN/OH Valley, it could be so much worse...

Sounds good your way. You need to be out here in the carolinas with me right now. Currently 49 with 15-20 mph sustained winds in a driving rainstorm and approaching 3 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. Trying to make up for that non winter around these parts approaching June. Enjoy your nice weather down your way.

Started out the day with temps and dewpoint in the low 60s. As th airmass has changed its now up to 72 with a dp of 72
You may get some breaks in the clouds soon. I don't think they are going to get this far west

Yeah seen the sun peak out a few times. Temps have skyrocketed and it's muggy and nasty out now. Very tropical feeling

EDIT: at 8am it was 63/63 it is now 77/75

I'm impressed with the coverage of showers over your way. If we had gotten the western track some of the models had with the low west of US1 we could have had a decent severe afternoon with highs in the 80s

Going for low 40s or bust tonight. Currently 52

Just an obs but yesterday morning was Smokey/Hazy here in Union County. Was that from the stuff in Canada? I got off at 7 am and it was that way my whole commute home.

Very grateful for the .85" overnighht.

Finally, got decent rain early this morning 1.04 inches to be exact. The most I have had in weeks. Unlike my mom down in South Georgia in Crisp County, that got 5 inches of rain just last week.

I hope this gets to Jonesville! ? F13921E7-90BE-4A99-B4B3-A54D0168E8FA.png

I just got .97 inches of rain from a morning thunderstorm. It knocked out power for a minute but everything is now as close to normal as it will ever be around here. It's been a while since I've seen a AM thunderstorm. It interrupted my plans to cut the grass and do a little yardwork.

We haven't had a drop of rain since Aug 28. A bunch of pop up storms happen all around us but we are cooked here.
