2021 Banter Thread

Lol I accidently clicked on the link of a scam email tonight because I'm so tired. ? Thank the good lord that my computer blocked it. Gave me the opportunity to look at the email address line and yep...scam.

Edit: And as for why I'm so tired, at least one dog inconveniently got into the backyard at about 5 in the morning to go after the cats and was barking loud enough to wake me up. The older ones that have still been around seem fine but all of the kittens that we just found were killed early this morning by at least one dog.
 
I've gone a couple weeks mostly not wearing a mask so far (I did for an interview today since it was for a healthcare related job, speaking of which, more on that later) and now as of yesterday I have a sore throat. Very frustrated about that.

When I complained about that, my dad teased me and said, "should've worn a mask". But man, idk. It could be allergies or I could have gotten something from visiting with my grandma or older cousin's kids (edited).

Edit: Speaking of the interview (since I was distracted, I didn't make this post make total sense all around), I went to an interview this morning. Guess what I got this morning before the interview? An automatic email thanking me for applying to them and saying that we have moved on to the next part of the hiring process.

It's possible your kids picked up something at school or daycare. Kids are a mess when it comes to germs.

Man it’s crazy. My whole house is dealing with it. My office has it. Odd for this time of year. It’s been at least 3 weeks in this house. Can’t kill it.
 
There isn't any doubt in it, I'm definitely sick for the first time that I can remember. I probably picked it up from my grandma or from one of my older cousin's kids, but it sucks anyway.

I'm stubborn enough to still go attempt to swim. Might do less this time though.
 
Yall are speaking of that cold going around, I got tested for covid, not it! Just a cold that refuses to leave, and I've been dealing with it since Memorial Day!!! And I've worn a mask, and have to agree that maybe I didn't expose myself enough to the regular colds as much which is why this one is so much stronger? I hope everyone that has it feels better soon!

In all seriousness that thread wasn't a constructive place in the community anymore. Evveryone had dug their heels into their beliefs and went after anyone who disagreed and it was just a bunch of cyclical snippy posts that put us as staff in a position to either have to moderate the thread heavily which leads to more anger or to pause the thread. I chose to give the thread a time out for a while and possibly revisit it later. The main issue I had personally was that I didn't feel like I could post in a thread on my own board, that's suboptimal.

I would like to have the thread back open for info sharing and discussion purposes but everyone would need to play nice and actually be constructive and factual or at least reasonable. It can't be the wild west with people firing anything from the hip.

Nah never open it again! I personally hate that thread it sucked all the activity out the forum into that one thread .

It rolled through my house and was pretty awful as far as colds go. Took me a solid 7 days to feel close to right and my wife more like 10. I'm sure it came from my daughter's school at the time. We did all the elderberry and vitamin c/zinc stuff to try to shorten it but not really sure anything helped except time and hydrating.

I can’t be the only one but my guy I don’t think anyone here understands 95% of the stuff you post . No offense but it’s always so weird . We might be talking about hurricanes and you come in and say “ mmmm I like cookies on a red boat “ or some weird nonsensical thing . You do quote song lyrics though I understand that lol.
