Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Heys guys wanted to update some forecast periods I’ve been watching, my first guess map has been shunted even further east and is delayed through early next week if moisture even makes it inland totals very light if any but most near zero. Going forward, deeper into Feb and March, I believe winter is over unless your in the mtns there could be a period of wet snow. Thank you
Just like it wasn going to snow until the 3rd or 4th week of January? ???????

I found this in a article on the 1994 Nashville ice storm. If this picture is really from around Nashville that’s just incredible and devastating at the same time!

Great photo! Not sure of photo location but this was the exact type images we were seeing in Northwest MS during this event. I was 6 at the time and will never forget what it was like to go through this storm.

i get preferring warm weather over cold weather. I don't get how anyone could look with envy at weather featuring dewpoints of 60 or higher. That is very humid and not at all pleasant, at any temperature. Exercising outside with dewpoints over 60 is awful, especially if the temp is less than 85 or so.

i went for a 3 mile run today and it felt amazing. Shirt off, light mist to keep me cool.

Plus this constant dry air outside coupled with dry air inside from running the heat 24/7 has done a number on my sinuses. So this very humid air feels wonderful to breath in.

I also grew up in South Fl,...

I remember this storm very well. CLT went from temperatures in mid 70s one afternoon to mid 20s with heavy sleet exactly 24 hours later.

I just looked up weather where you are and it appears the dewpoint is in the 50s. That is certainly comfortable. But not 60s. You can stop sweating when exercising, even if the temp is also in the 60s.

Just a tad bit of difference between the NAM and GFS

I’m tired of tracking cold air and modeled 384 hour torches people are seeing that aren’t there!
