It's been like that with 90% of the storm threats in RDU in any year.

Didnt seem like that big of an issue in the 70s and 80s, although it may have been. Of course back then, we had to walk to school with shovels and bookbag full of emergency supplies.

This is an exact repeat of what happened last week. Last Tuesday was sunny and warmer, too, just like today. Then all the rain came here with the ice to the north and west. This looks like the same thing but with the ice threat further east and south this time. Just crazy to me that we have such a hard time with the 850s more and more.

Exactly , snow in winter is already hard enough let alone in freaking March when temps are much warmer on average . It’s just setting yourself up for a cold rain

And tears falling contribute to evaporational cooling, may give you a better chance at onset.
