Every time I've listened to this song before a snow event it ended up busting, hopefully the curse ends with this one lol.

Feel like I'll get a couple of inches but the latest trend seems to be heaviest axis shifting a touch west in NC hope someone jackpots with 10"! I'll try not to be jealous lol

I totally agree. I'm curious to see how this will play out for my area.

That feeling when even the driest SREF ensemble member for the last 8 runs verifies as too wet....

I'm trying so hard to temper my excitement but those 18z runs really crapped on that

Yeah you're probably good but where that heaviest axis finally sets up going to be interesting to watch. I guess I'm just a little confused as to why it doesn't translate east more than what most models are showing but hey I got mine the other week so I'll be okay with an inch or two

Has anyone else noticed Spann's reluctance to comment on travel issues with this system?
He has made this same statement several times.

"I am not sure it is wise for me to issue travel opinions tonight. Temps fall into the teens; ice is possible where snow is falling. I have no special knowledge about future road conditions. All depends on your route and risk tolerance, and that varies from person to person."

What gives????

The trolls and Chicken Littles at the other place talking about rising temps and the RAP not showing snow in the Triangle are insufferable.

I'm really not sure what the point is of my college delaying because if it actually does snow, even though it's expected to be light, it'll probably flip to cancelled.

Haha my main actual gripe is now I don't even know if I should go to that class that I have (8:30 AM-12:00 PM) and given how my teacher works I'm unlikely to find out until time. I can't even use the roads excuse because I know even if we see snow we're not seeing the conditions some north of us will.

Brick,
At least you got a shot ... far more than one Curmudgeon ...
Enjoy your shot ... and good luck, My Man! ;)
Best!

Just another way for me to be let down. Thanks Shawn

Yeah, the 21z SREF ticked down again for us and odubled to our north.

SREF is so bad, but as long as it shows what someone wants; people love it.
I like the look of that HREF though. I think around an inch or two (at most) is a good call at this point.

The thing here though @whatalife , i am really thinking KCAE will get screwed while we over here to the West will do okay. temp wise. Sucks, but its been reoccuring.. for KCAE to be less than us on most guidance.

I could see upto 2 inches around here , while they have a dusting, or even less.

Going to be a long day of radar gazing tomorrow, probably painful at times as the snow piles up to my west and it slowly progresses eastward while I'll be begging it doesn't start to fizzle.... Lol

Yuck, but I hope you guys get a good one even if we fail over here. I at least did get close to a dusting with the previous storm.

New nam is looking good. Just as little slower

Good luck, hope everything goes well for you SD, my wife is ready for the for the champagne... (and the flowers didn't hurt) so l will call an night and watch the snow when l can:rolleyes: good luck and see you with the totals tomorrow:)

Don't know about you other guys in north central Alabama, but I,m a little disappointed with my 1/4 inch of powder. I think the models did better than the radars in my neck of the woods. I wonder what things would have looked like on radar if they hadn't used clear air mode? It would have been a lot more relaxing day!

NAM bad for CAE/Lexington. Toss by me!

Now as I looked again, my college doesn't open for students until 11 AM...just lol/wonderful, I have an 8:30 class so I have no idea of whether I have to go or not and at the same time, for my purposes, I hope this is worth it, as since this is the last semester for me it's a really condensed one (it's class then internship) and I'm not sure what's going to happen if we end up missing this class.

What is the science behind it being 20’s the day and after snow but 35 the day of
? Columbia sucks!

Weirdest snow I’ve ever experienced. Radar never seemed to be completely reliable. Dry slot definitely played a role here , which was modeled well imo. So frustrating watching band after band set up just to my nw. Anyhow perhaps a dusting at best, icy roads and 19 degrees currently.

Didn't take Glenn Burns long to start backpedaling tonight on snowfall totals I see. They're using a snow map that's calling for widespread 1-3 inches from Atlanta south and west. Wasn't it just 24hrs ago we weren't supposed to get nothing but a trace or snow flurries? lmfao

heading for single digits here... airport hasnt done it in 22 years

just imagine how cold it'd be with a snow cover

This storm is almost a part two to December 2017 in terms of areas affected. Areas such as Houston, New Orleans, Mobile, etc. that got hit last month are getting it again today/tonight. Incredible!

It looks like RollTide18 and accu35 are going to be the biggest winners again over in AL.

Did the observation thread get deleted? Okay. Well, you all get my obvs here. Snowing hard in Montgomery and I'm super excited. It's sticking.
