Misc 2018 Banter & Venting Thread

Just an educated guess but this time next year the I-24/I-75 split will go from being one of the worst bottlenecks in the state to one of the worst in the nation due to the widening and reconfiguration. Pack extra meals to get thru lol.

I don't know why but it seems like TN has horrible traffic all over the state. I've been stuck in traffic jams in Chatt, Knox, and Nash.

Today in particular is obscene. Sure its Friday but only 4:30 with clear weather, yet if you going to 75 via 24 its backed up all the way to 59 lol.
 
Please remind me to never again go to the train station near downtown Charlotte at midnight on a Friday night to pick someone up, made one wrong turn near it and I’m lucky I didn’t get shot. It’s worse than downtown Fayetteville as bad as that sounds. Trains coming from Raleigh to Charlotte were severely delayed and slow to get here due to Michael.

Last year when I took the bus from my place to downtown for college, my mom would always be worried about me coming home, especially during fall and winter.
 
Bus terminals anywhere, are just bad juju, not the best of elements! Not quite as bad as MARTA!! I remember that first ride like it was yesterday !

I had a greyhound layover midnight in Atlanta 10 years ago on my way to Baton Rouge for an LSU/USC game...that’ll never happen again

Took the family to Bryson City today. Perfect day for a pullover and a train ride. Not much fall foliage yet but you can tell the lights are going to flip at any moment
 
Did the Titans players even get out of bed today? SHEESH what a dismal performance.... Mariota got sacked 11 TIMES?!! Defense could not get off the field on 3rd down... etc.

Went to Helen Ga for Octoberfest today, perfect weather! Great food and beer
 
I can’t hold my tongue. Elizabeth Warren took a DNA test that shows she’s between 1.6% and 0.097% Native American...my great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee which, if I’m correct, puts me at 1/32nd or 3.125% Native American..I’m still looking for my Casino check in the mail

You should still get the race card!? Or does that stop at 1/8?
 
I am wondering how people would feel in this situation. Your department at work receives an award, the biggest team award that is given at your job. The description of the award says it comes with a framed certificate, a luncheon, and a monetary award. So, you go to the luncheon, expecting a monetary award as well, but don't receive one. No one tells you there wouldn't be a monetary award. So, you ask about it, and are told there wasn't a monetary award because the rules for the award say only 25 or less team members can receive the award. Even though you work on a team of 15 people, because of the project that the award was for had 147 people total working on the same project, it was considered one team. But you see the last time the award was given, it was given to 190 people over 11 different teams.

My question is if the rules state only 25 people for a team can be eligible for the award, but all 147 people were considered one team because they were all working on the one project, then why were we able to receive the award to begin with? And if an exception was made, why didn't we receive the full award that included the monetary part? If you can give a monetary award to 190 people over 11 different teams, why not 147 people on what you considered one team? And why wouldn't you tell people there would not be a monetary award when they are expecting one instead of making them have to ask about it?

That is exactly what happened to me. I was all excited about getting the award last week, and now I feel like it is patronizing and blowing smoke up our butts if you're not going to give the monetary award with it.
