On this day 5 years ago we were going through a pretty significant tornado outbreak with 65 confirmed tornadoes, including an EF 3 in Adairsville, GA.
 
Two hundred years ago today(January 30-31, 1818) Raleigh received a foot of snow. Up to 10" of snow fell in Northern South Carolina near Camden.

Seeing the tweet by Dan Leonard(aka "Meteotrade") in the February Discussion thread reminded me of the epic battles he had with DT at Wright-Weather Bulletin Board. He accused DT of using "smoke and mirrors" with his weather forecasting.
 
How many posts a day are we going to see about indexes not looking good and trough diving to the west and all that crap. Same people, and Webb has to come in and tell y'all that trough can't go to the west/Rockies with sound reasoning . Day in, day out like the last five days
 
I love it when we pick our favorite ensemble member that gives our backyard the most snow. We are so predictable. I think we should have a special model that runs every day that shows crazy snow clown maps. Even if there’s only a .0001% chance of it verifying, it makes us giddy. I’m right there with y’all!

It's a WEATHER BOARD where people can have different opinions. I happen to agree with Webber and Jon and others but that does not mean everyone has to believe it . People can have their own opinions , it's ok

So long as opinions are based on something more than what someone "wants" ... ;)

I apologize, uncertain if this was directed at me for the post on the EPS handling of the EPO. I removed the posts. Intent of the post was to show how the GEPS and GEFS have a strong -EPO and the EPS was probably incorrect. I see now that is probably not a post that contributes to what this forum wants.

I agree with packfan98 above...E1 would be my selection :)

Considering it's winter I'd like for there to be more cold but there's no need to attack the opposing feeling.

Really, let's correct it, as I said earlier, one Miller A please, that affects most of us and then back to normal weather.
 
Hopefully the Tennessee Valley area can finally get in on the winter action this weekend. Some encouraging trends there. Also, HSV got down to 25 this morning rather than our forecast 29.
