We need to have a live show with Jon ,Webber and 1300m while they are all in a good mood ( NC state beating UNC) to discuss the pattern as we roll in February

I see acceptance has not happened yet.

^ The key period that has been repeatedly cited by many posters, including myself based on model progged PNA/AO/MJO, for the start of dominating cold in the SE is the 2nd week in Feb. Just the start of that week is still 11 days away, which is still a long ways out when considering how inaccurate and volatile the models have been. Until we get close enough and models become consistent enough to make it clear how that 2nd week is looking in the SE, I'm keeping confidence down as to how the 2nd week+ is likely to evolve. The CFS is not very good though note the trough in the E US and the very strong ridge out west. That's actually encouraging. I'm not sure if you (Shawn) agree.

That does not scream warmth

570dm heights coming into my back yard screams no snow for me. Here are the temps to go with it:

Edit: Looking at the EPS image posted in the main thread, it's not too far off with the look the Euro has right now.

Well, if you go by Eric, he's continued to say the EPS has been terrible post day 10 with it's bias to dump a trough in the west and it's been backpedaling most of the winter as you draw closer to verification.

Shawn,
Why are you assessing the entire month based on one map from one not so good model? Even if it were to be right, 567 dm is very near normal for Feb. and nowhere near a torch. Furthermore, considering the above normal H5 progged for the first week, that's not bad at all. In addition, I see the 2m prog is near normal. That's also not bad. Feb will probably consist of a lot of ups and downs, which may very well average near normal. That sure is way, way better than last year's Feb torch and might give you a shot during one of the colder periods. Now, if we actually do get a solid +PNA/-AO along with slow moving weak phases 7-8-1-2 starting week 2, then weeks 2-3 may give you your best shot, which is a Gulf low that then crosses central FL.

Question: Was checking FFC Indicated Rainfall on GRLevel 3.. and it seem very low, showing 0.73 for me (Gage at 2.16.. When comparing from KJGX, KGSP both showed between 1.80 and 2.05.. and also overall FFC is much lighter than those... Anyway to let them know, for future FF situations. ?

Not sure , but at GSP its overperformed big time! Whole event was supposed to be .5-.75 total! Been pouring for about 3 hours and off and on rain since yesterday!

Google Pixel 2 - Good phone. Major questions about data usage.

May have brought it on myself though by not using Wi-Fi to download apps at first.

Check your syncing with photos and other google apps. There's a chance your phone is syncing stuff on your google account other than email to your phone or the other way around.

What I especially don't understand is how photos took up actual data usage when all I did was have my old bluetoothed in. It's the first time I'm trying a smart phone so I really want to make it work, even though it'd be for mostly two things outside the basics, maybe 3.

It's probably due to the settings just because it's a Google phone. I believe Google had promoted that as a feature for your phone to never run out of space since it's synced to Google photos. You should be able to turn it off in the google photos app settings.

For all you folks who worry about what a model or a forecast says ...
Here's this AM in my back yard ...

See that - 1.5 to 2?
It's barely showered, and it's going away ...

That was today; local NWS sure was on top of it.
So, if you're worried about tomorrow, or next week, take heart ... it's all just a "forecast" ... ;)

I answered my question mostly on my own by the way, a lot of it was my mistake by not going on Wi-Fi to download. I'd only use the phone mostly for two things that may use data that is off the grid from Wi-Fi, and maybe really one, very occasionally using the internet. I think I can circumvent everything else.

So I turned off everything that uses background data for now (and will reenable Chrome after 15 days). Any other suggestions?

I recorded 2.05" just south of Atlanta, for what it's worth.

So is Fab Feb still on? Just still 15 days away? I guess it will rock after Valentine's Day ! Unless it gets pushed back a little further! :(
