Well for me - I'm diggin' the fact that we're supposed to 34º again tonight with heavy frost - at least it's something white on the roof at 7:00 AM ... LOL
getting talked about is the ultimate form of flatteryI am getting a chuckle reading the interwebs today. People must really feel threatened
I saw that too and laughed at it as well. lolI am getting a chuckle reading the interwebs today. People must really feel threatened
all too clearly ... LOLIt reminds me of the guy in the car next to me at a stoplight that's picking his nose, for some reason he thinks he's alone, in his car and no one can see him up to his knuckle......dude we can see right through the window. Yeah no one from other cars/forums can see him being a disgusting..... well you get the picture.
Are you suggesting that the next couple of winters could be better ?Hate that this winter is going to be bad, but the last time that we had a two season stretch of winter like this was not long ago (11-13), we know what followed (and it doesn't matter if you didn't get to see winter weather). 13-15 was very cold and had a handful of significant winter storms.
Are you suggesting that the next couple of winters could be better ?
Yep...I keep wondering if we have a troll. One tactic I've seen is to try to sound like you know what your talking about just enough to lead others astray...or incite a riot!Sometimes it's like....

Wasn't the Earth a lot cooler back then ? I'm sure it's much more difficult to get something like that to happen in 2017.The greatest arctic outbreak in US history began Feb 11th, and went to the 13th, with major snow even in FL .... so there's still a smidgen of hope.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BTW - that was 1899, so it's a smidgen, but it was warm leading up ....
That I wouldn't have a clue on ... factually or dynamically.Wasn't the Earth a lot cooler back then ? I'm sure it's much more difficult to get something like that to happen in 2017.
It would be hard for a winter to be worse than this winter, so next year should be better by default! The models are showing a Nino developing over the summer. We sucked at winter with a raging , Godzilla Nino last winter, sucked super hard this winter, with a weak Niña, that ended up almost like enso neutral on paper. I guess I'd like to try a weak Nino and see how that goes, I think they are supposed to be cold and snowy for us!? May we have the winter next year, like Portland is having this winter!Why would you suggest otherwise? Wouldn't a colder winter be statistically more likely?
Portland is further north than Minneapolis so they have that going for them. It's hard for us to compete with a city at that latitude.It would be hard for a winter to be worse than this winter, so next year should be better by default! plus they have a rather different accent .... and I'm sure they have no idea what grits, cornbread, black-eyed peas, fried okra and catfish arePortland is further north than Minneapolis so they have that going for them. It's hard for us to compete with a city at that latitude.
They average less snow per winter than Dahlgohnorrea, GAPortland is further north than Minneapolis so they have that going for them. It's hard for us to compete with a city at that latitude.
I highly doubt that. I know they dont get much snow for a city of their latitude, but i'm pretty sure they average at least 6" a winterThey average less snow per winter than Dahlgohnorrea, GA
They definitely get their fair share of ice storms though.My avatar represents what most of us are doing for the 0z runs. As for Portland, I'll look it up but areas near the ocean generally don't see much snow.
