And it's official...CHA logged its 1st subfreezing high on Christmas since 1989, and 6th all-time since 1879.
Today was also the 1st time in nearly 3 years (Jan 2018) with a subfreezing high, and the 1st one in the month of December since 2010!

Well I certainly can’t complain about the weather today. First sub 40 high on Christmas Day since 2013. The high was 39 and it occurred at midnight. The highest it got this afternoon was 33. The sun was in and out behind the clouds and we had flurries on and off from about 9am until 3 pm. This was the first time I got to see flakes falling during the daytime on Christmas Day. In 1998, there was 1/2 and inch on the ground in Concord that had fallen during the pre-dawn hours and despite having 5.4 inches from the 2010 storm, we didn’t start seeing snow here until after sunset. Hopefully sometime in the next several weeks, we will have a good old fashioned I-20 to I-40 Southern Slider Snowstorm to track.
