Oh my it is 77° at 7:43am in Cutler, Maine! It is supposed to be 91° today which is insane! This heat wave is not fun, thankfully my new house is across the street from the ocean so hopefully it will be cooler there! Yall stay safe in the south, I know it has been hot there too!

91 is a normal July day here.

UT TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD DAILY RECORD OF 105 DEGREES SET IN

2002. THIS IS ALSO A NEW MONTHLY AND ALL-TIME HIGH TEMPERATURE

RECORD FOR THE SITE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 107, SET IN 1960, 2002,

2021, AND 2022.

THE IDAHO FALLS FANNING FIELD AIRPORT RECORDED A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 103 DEGREES

TODAY. THIS NOT ONLY BREAKS THE PREVIOUS RECORD FOR JULY 12 OF 100

DEGREES SET IN 2002, BUT BREAKS THE ALL-TIME RECORD FOR FANNING FIELD OF 102 SINCE RECORD KEEPING STARTED IN 1948.

Persian Gulf coast in the 2nd half of summer is a hellhole. At least in the 1st half of summer offshore winds bring dry air, so it's tolerable. And at night you can stay outside easily.

Anyways in summer more people are outside at night than day
 
From an Evansville, IN, pro-met

These were the observations at Evansville, IN for 4-5-6pm on July 26, 2026.

The dew point readings were 80-80 and 81.

The 81 deg. F dewpoint tied the record for highest dew point in history at this location. It happened on 4 previous occasions.

All the moisture evaporated

The only way to get the historic 2-3 straight weeks above 100 is to have lower humidity here. It's not possible with dewpoints in the 70s

I bet in 1936 when it was over 110 degrees for 4 days straight there was no humidity

I picked the right time to escape from the high heat indices of my home to CO’s mainly 40s dewpoints, which along with some breeze are making their 80s to mid 90s quite tolerable. That’s why summer is my favorite time to go there. This is the first time I’ve been to CO in over a decade thus making it that much more enjoyable.

We will have some pretty low Dew Points in Georgia over the next few days. Some areas in the 50s !
 
I just saw this video of a bear dodging a vehicle on I-70 before then running into the side of another vehicle on the adjacent surface street near W Vail 4 days ago! There also were 2 bear sightings in my immediate vicinity near W Vail the last 36 hours, including one right outside of a restaurant I was eating at at the time (I didn’t see it myself)! When I left the restaurant, I wasn’t scared but was extra vigilant!

The horrible drought is causing them to search for alternative food sources. This area has had spotty but impressive looking monsoonal convection during mid to late afternoon developing over the highest peaks. Little rainfall has reached the ground, however. The good news is that increased rainfall is expected this weekend:
