Misc This Means WAR

It would be easy for repubs to win it all 2028. But they want listen to me so.

Rubio is the best communicator they have. Period and in a league of his own.

Repubs need hispanic and blue collar working nuclear family/ GOD Family Country alliance like they had in 24 to do it.

Rubio would put that together by grabbing hispanic vote back and repubs should run on flat tax or consumption only/ no payroll tax.working class not baked in the 3 big idealogies that define dem party would hire them right back. Game set Match!

Repubs will never capture white yuppie woke crowd/ socialist/ Islam folks in the Dem Block.they could peel off at a max maybe 5-10% of african american crowd from the dem block.that would tip em over top.
If they want to win the young vote or have a shot at it (which makes up a considerable amount and is growing) they need more than promising tax cuts because they know the little asterisk by it now has a meaning, and it's not for them. Even if it was, it's nullified by the inflation, tariffs, war costs, and industry changes. If we are in fact facing something historic in the labor market and the full red govt's reaction is cut safety nets, of course they're going to lose.

You need to get real jobs, fix the labor market gap (minimum and low wage jobs growing, high paying jobs shrinking), the housing situation, and healthcare at the very least. Housing isn't affordable and asking someone to live 2 hours from work to afford a house should never have become the status quo, nor charging them 50-70% of their income on rent alone for a studio. For healthcare, I'm sure everyone is sick of the exploitation of all insurers when other nations get way better for less. They want policies to slash greed and 10000% mark-ups in that industry, which is likely a reason we saw Jackson lose GA due to his ownership of a healthcare company himself.

People also DO NOT want datacenters, except the small town in N Dakota. Telling people their house values are going to go up because of them at the cost of stillborn animals at farms and a constant roar isn't a life people want.

Combine the demoralized republican voters with an angry crowd wanting to purge the presidency assuming it's 2 years of noncooperation? If the dems play it right and in states with high control like TX and GA they just won, and they run a reasonably strong candidate instead of someone like Newsom or AOC, and the republicans choose a weak or Trump-associated candidate, I doubt we see a red wave or anything republican in full control. Might get a partial control where states see no improvements with dems, but people are sick of electing people who suck up to billionaires and super old people.

As we saw Tuesday night, people Trump touches are radioactive politically, so if anyone from his cabinet runs for president, they're just going to feel the same effect.

Also, no new wars or foreign policy failures. People are sick of seeing the rational distaste for our nation's actions against others or sudden praise of Russia, China, and N. Korea and alienation of our European allies as well as our neighbors. Get someone to help clean up the wars or fix foreign policy issues we've created the last decade and keep it going past their terms so we stop looking ridiculous and irrational on the world stage, causing what the republican party was so against to come true anyway, which is the US losing global influence and China beating us. It starves our economy.

If I've learned anything over the past several elections, people want more of the same if it works, but revolt at the polls if it doesn't. We haven't worked for awhile, so that's why we keep flipping aggressively.

Definitely think the second paragraph is what younger people are feeling at least in the state of NC. Live to work and work to live drives frustration to any party in power for them. They’ll flip back and forth til their lives are more comfortable.

Wow! Watching this 3 minute clip of MI Sen elect Dr. El Sayed is well worth one’s time. He was asked about what he’d do to protect Jewish voters in the current era of increased anti-Semitism. He explained very eloquently that being against supporting the Bibi coalition because of its overly aggressive war policy in Gaza against innocent Palestinians is not at all anti-Semitism. His high school had 40% Jews, and he has lots of respect and love for the Jewish faith. He sounds sincere to me.

The main and important thing I may disagree with him about is the continued existence of Israel as a heavy majority Jewish country. If they don’t maintain a heavy majority, it would no longer be the safe haven for Jews to go to if needed. It sounds like he may be against that. He certainly doesn’t sound at all like an anti-Semite/he doesn’t sound like he has any hatred, but being against a majority Jewish state could be viewed as an implied form of anti-Semitism. I need to read more about his stance on this.

What are others’ opinions on this?
I wish they would have asked him his take on ;

But no one ever talks or ask these questions for some strange reason. Clarity from himself would be nice to hear since there are now 255 elected to office officials practicing Muslim/Islam faith. I saw what happened in Iran in the the late 1970's. Watched the islamist piggyback/team up with the communist /socialist movement in Iran to overthrow their govt. Then after the dust settled the Islamist who where using the socialist movement turned on them as they had no use for them anymore and stomped them out as well. Fast forward to europe today and its dejua-ve. Same seeds are not only being planted in America/ but nurtured and watered.

No doubt American Dream is getting futher and futher oout of reach. No need to define American dream/ think we all view as being able to afford housing/ transportation/job to go to/healthcare. Also who wants a data center sucking the local Grid & water dry/ noise pollution next door. Im with you. build it up north/out west away from me/us as well.

Safety Net. Im personally all about helping folks. Love to .

So how do you do that?

We cant honestly eitheir one sit here and seriously think the federal govt/ which is beyond to big to even manage itself. Is capable of solving these issues. They ( all of them) use these situations as talking points to get elected and pass legislation none of them even bother to read to take our hard earned money / earmark it with some fancy lingo/ then butter their own pockets. Look at all the fraud just uncovered with the daycares in MN / Hospice/health issues in California.

Everyone on here doesnt mind paying a little and having better roads/ defense/ law and order. But we shouldn't be paying the absorbent amount we already do and seeing it get wasted/ stolen. I gurantee you at least 70% + of the 40 trillion dollar defeceit we have , has ended up being confiscated through fraud. Everytime a bill gets passed, its never taking off the books/re-examined for its so called intended purpose. And where is the accountability for every red cent that is being handed out? zero accountability.

So Im sorry. Dont come at me with the social safety net / we need more to redistribute angle. Until they start holding themselves accountable and clean up the waste and fraud. Then I would be all ears. Another thing to. Yes we agree business are greedy/ will try take every penny they can make. They are slaves to wall street and stock boards wanting profit not losses on their returns. Someone has to pay Jimmy Hypocrisy. But Its them that give us money/ opportunity to make a living. Not the Federal govt. The Feds Take 99% and only give you 1% back . Thats being generous.

Our common enemy is the lack of accountability we allow them (poloticians) to get away with. Not the top 10% wage earners in America who pay close to 90% of the total sum of taxes collected every year by the federal govt.

Ill be honest seeing republican senate espeacilly get fired for sitting on their tales the pass 2 years+ is refreshing. My problem is we have hired a even more worse replacement. Of all the things I wished you lefties would have just once joined in on and us together put the hammer down collectively was the Doge stuff. Get em all and hold accountable. But it got tabooed and they all will just keep on taking more and more. Defeciet want stop until it crashes the whole kit and koobootle for us all. When it does collapse/ cause it will. Its gonna be beyond what any of us can imagine unfortunately

Corporate greed is the problem, especially with the growing monopolies etc. Things are suppose to get better not worse, I have seen my buying power shrink a lot the last decade or so, and so have many others. My 23 yr old son lives at home and unless he is willing to live in a rundown trailer or apt he will for the foreseeable future as a decent one bedroom apt in this area is 800-1000 bucks....he is better off banking that right now cause he is gonna need it to try and get a house in a few years. I moved out when I was 18 and me and my roommate had a brand new 2 bedroom for 350 a month.

There is a very real sense of the rich getting richer thanks to the current administration policies versus the middle class that is being hammered by rising cost and stagnant wages, its pretty hard to accept that somehow all these corporations are making record profits but somehow fail to offer wage increases to the workers but the CEO's and other at the top make insane bonuses. Then add in that Trump and his family are using the office of the presidency to enrich themselves by BILLIONS of dollars all why we struggle, this is one thing I do hope the new Dem lead Congress investigates, the level of corruption by this admin is mid boggling.

Lastly DOGE was a joke, it was a targeted attack on things/orgs Trump wanted to punish for not being loyal to him or that he thought would win points with his base. It also was used to create data tracking across the board among federal agencies mostly to target an track people not loyal or critical to the president.

Doge was a joke....

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) saved a tiny fraction of its claimed savings, with independent audits verifying only about $1.4 billion to $7 billion in actual cuts. When accounting for newly created expenses, analysts conclude that DOGE actually resulted in an overall net financial loss for taxpayers.

Lastly to the point you made about the top 10% of earners you say pays 90% of federal taxes ( its actually about 70% ), you do understand that they also have right around 70% of the total wealth in this country right? Heck the top 1% of US earners controls 30-35% of ALL WEALTH in this country. The top 10% wealthiest people in the US control 80-90% of ALL privately traded stocks in this country....the top 1% own half HALF of all privately traded stocks in this country, all these Trump tax cuts etc have been tailored made to benefit these people. The corporate greed we talked about earlier, its easy to see why it happens and why they focus on shareholders etc because they are all the same people.

Anyways all this is why the GOP got beat down the other day, people in the bottom 80% are sick of fighting for everything, healthcare, groceries, fuel, etc....all while watching all these corporations getting richer and richer.

Best place to start is holding them all accountable as you mentioned. Show them we the people will never stop holding them accountable. Elect people who are not part of the now gerontocracy that has run the country for the past 20 years being mostly the same group of politicians. They don't have much time left and care only for themselves for the most part.

As far as DOGE, it was a failure due to who led it. It was more corruption than it cleaned out. Tackle the issues together one by one starting with common ground with bipartisan agreement and no petty vetoing.

We also have to get better at communicating across parties. We all ultimately want the same thing but fall apart and prioritizing the wrong issues or vocalizing them as too important. Let's not forget we are all Americans and not enemies of each other.

Rubio could definitely be a great GOP candidate in 2028 but for two things:

1. Unless things change in a big way (which they might), 2028 may be unwinnable for Republicans, regardless of who the candidate is. Strong candidates might wait for 2032 and let a sacrificial lamb run in 2028 like McCain in 2008.
2. Rubio has a lot of baggage being tied to the Trump Administration, and tied to the Iran War. Yes, he’s a rare breath of fresh air in an Administration populated by so many unprofessional, unserious people like Hegseth, Noem, etc., but he’s still tied at the hip to this Administration.
Agree, it’s giving me Nikki Haley vibes

There is corporate greed. No denying and Im certainly not gonna sit here and defend. Agree 100% with you that there is. But lets use your grocery store. We all visit a grocery store buy food. Food Lion is pretty common one. They operate off 1% profit off everything they sale us. They are owned by Ahoid Delhaize ( big Dutch retail / wholesale international corp). who reported over 2 billion in profit last year. Think it was like a 4% profit margin year over year. So just using them as example. When I go to food lion you are saying what? they should break even on more items they sale me and only make 1% profit margin on rest I buy?
How about the Gas I been buying. Its cheaper in NC than anywhere in the country right now. Paid 3.28 gallon. But only till November 30th. Then that 3.28 is gonna be 3.88 a gallon. I work from Jan 1-late May just to pay all my fed/state/local and sales taxes. Almost half the year before I pay the outrages Health premiums/ obsurred power bills etc. Your kid and mine are in same exact boat. They are overwhelming majority now. Unless married with 2 incomes/ its about impossible to afford rent/ espeacilly buying a house now if you are making under 6 figures.
Why? because inflation. Inflation is the cause for dollar losing its value. What causes inflation? Corporate greed/ price gauging? OR a 40 trillion dollar debt spiraling out of control because of reckless spending?
Im not gonna defend big bus/ wall street. Yes theres greed/ why they take risk get up and work everyday etc. But they arent what drives the purchasing power of todays dollar in the ground. Our legislative body over the past muliple decades collectively is what has done that.

It's hard to be fellow countrymen with people that are ok murdering the unborn and mutilating mentally ill children when they think they are the opposite sex. I don't think I can ever align with people that believe those things are OK.

October jobs report just came out/ smoking hot and the Aug and sept where revised upward. Unemployment today is by choice only. Non existent. The leverage pendellum is in the employee hand not employer. You aint hiring anyone for anything at minimum wage. This shoots the corporate greed lump sum point of view as cause for our woes down.

Yes its taking every penny we have just to purchase any and everything because our dollar is worthless thanks to Washington DC.

Inflation's primary cause is monetary policy (creating more dollars), through fake national debt. If it is not stopped and reversed, it won't matter at all whether Dems or Repubs are in power.

For SC in particular; I think there was a bit of a perfect storm that led to the flip in senator seat. Graham was just not a good candidate and a lot of people saw her as forced. Not sure why the party machine pushed so hard for her; probably because they thought they could control her better, but if Norman or another candidate had been allowed to proceed organically they would have won the primary; and likely the election. This resulted in divided conservatives and a greatly motivated liberal base who saw this as their opportunity to get a liberal candidate in there. They ran a much more effective campaign and Andrews moderated her platform speech. You get a high and motivated turnout for dems and a tepid and divided turnout for reps and... voila. Eventually this may be a good thing for SC. You have to take six years of Andrews but she will be split with Scott and still have a red Governor. You can flip it back in six years and aren't stuck with Darlene.

Nationally; I think people have very short memories. Yes groceries, gas, and interest rates are still high, and the war is a mess. Guess what; 2 years ago all those prices and inflation were even higher; foreign matters were even worse, the borders were a disaster, social issues were out of control. All this stuff that people on the left are talking about that is unacceptable now, they were perfectly fine with (and willing to vote for more of) two years ago.

It's hard to be fellow countrymen with people that are ok murdering the unborn and mutilating mentally ill children when they think they are the opposite sex. I don't think I can ever align with people that believe those things are OK.
Yeah, this is true for me as well. I can remember voting for Dem candidates, at times when I was younger, and you could find dems who were pro-life. I am willing to try to find some compromise on healthcare, education, government programs, etc; but I just cannot vote for someone who, is not only ok with abortion and trans-procedures; but who actively defends and fights for those evils.

Yes its taking every penny we have just to purchase any and everything because our dollar is worthless thanks to Washington DC.
And those prices will only go up because we have a "consumption mentality" programmed into us. How long will it be before a bojangles dinner cost $15 a person or a soda is $5? If you try and eat healthy but can't grow your own food, boy is that cost going up and up. It isn't sustainable when the entire country has a boatload of money we printed to "keep the economy afloat" and then you have millions and millions more people coming into the country to get in on the fun and here we sit. At some point capitalism will fold on itself as well but people want change, they actually believe they will get it and when they don't they will swing back to the other extreme looking for a magic pill that doesn't exist on the other wing of the bird either.

In this case, then let's as a nation work on healthcare, education, and govt issues. We are too distracted with issues generally not as large as the mentioned 3. Not everything will be solved at once or in 2 years but let's as a country start somewhere.

Thank you for your reply.

Regarding Oct 7th, it goes without saying how utterly horrible that was and perhaps that has been forgotten by many due to the long Gazan war that followed and short memories. What Hamas did on Oct 7th can never be forgiven or forgotten. Also, I think most agree that Hamas is horrible as they want Israel to cease to exist! Furthermore, how can the severe living condition of Gazans under their rule be justified? The ideas/beliefs of Hamas obviously can’t ever be eliminated but its control in Gaza needs to be kept in check as much as possible and preferably ended.

But two wrongs don’t make a right, correct? How could anyone justify the killing of ~70K innocent Palestinian women and children as well as many others who were wounded? How could one justify the destruction of most Gazan hospitals, schools, housing, and critical infrastructure? To be sure, many Jewish Israelis have not at all supported this. There have been many huge protests against the Bibi coalition for this reason. He may not be PM for much longer pending how the new Knesset majority coalition is determined.

In this case, then let's as a nation work on healthcare, education, and govt issues. We are too distracted with issues generally not as large as the mentioned 3. Not everything will be solved at once or in 2 years but let's as a country start somewhere.
If the Democrats would do these things and work on the economy, they could not lose and they would get Roosevelt like numbers. But of course, they will pursue what the radical left is looking for. Schumer and Jefferies are not for doing this but are scared of the left. They need to lay down the law and force them to go down a more moderate path. For example, take the path LBJ took. Except for Vietnam he would have won a 2nd term and who knows how history right up to the present day would have changed.

There is a concept of just war. You could argue that the Gaza conflict falls in that category. Hamas wasn't going to just surrender and leave Gaza. They view those "innocents" as fellow warriors for Islam. They hide behind the women and children and hostages. They do not fight symmetrically. They also view women and children as inferior. Could another method have been implemented? Maybe, but what? What would remove "Hamas" as a threat?

Other countries don’t play by the same rules as the US. I think many forget that in the grand scheme of things. Right, wrong or indifferent! If the US unleashed all our might many wars since WWII would have ended differently. If we were allowed to play on an an even field things would be different but for some reason we always have to be the “good” guys!

They have to stop the debt rollover. They can't keep spending. Historically the Democrats go after military spending over social programs and it needs to be the exact opposite. Hold military budget flat, cut all SS, Medicaid and foreign aid, use tax proceeds and tariffs to pay down debt.

Tariffs do not work long term. They will and have absolutely harmed our economy. The world buys from others when we make ourselves unattractive.

For taxes, who pays?

For healthcare, who pays when our country falls ill and cannot work and there are 0 nets?

Cutting foreign aid in military is a dent. We need to be smart and not irrational as a nation if we want to fix our finances. Start with not spending 100 billion to do nothing to Iran like we did. I'm sure those 100b dollars could have built some massive needed infrastructure here in the US.

Also, Islam is terrible for women's rights. Why would anyone ever want it in your country? Not hating any person, but the ideas are worthy to be despised. Also, socialism is terrible, too. Everyone is equally miserable under socialism.

Fundamentalist Christians are no different from strict islamists.

Please elaborate. How are they not different? In how they view women? Or in how they live out their beliefs? Strict Muslims live out their beliefs by forcing you to believe, pay a huge bribe or die. Is it sone other way they are the same? I see huge differences between them.

I think the Iran War was the catalyst for Republicans. Trump needs to solve Iran before 2028, or it will get worse for GOP. Tariffs aren't helping neither. If Trump continues with his kicking the can on Iran, wasting more of our tax dollars on Iran by bombing, or continuing to threaten tariffs on our allies, it won't get better for the GOP in 2028. MAGA is not dead honestly, but independents are not there to save GOP in 2028 like they were in 2024 if he continues to hurt GOP with the Iran War and tariffs.

Christians dont force you to live their beliefs? Christians are hoping to ban gay marriage again, chrisitians wont let trans kids receive healthcare, Christians force you to have babies even if you were raped or it may kill you Christians won't let women lead churches because they are inferior, Christians are clamoring at the chance to watch a live execution.

It might not be apples to apples but it sure isn't apples and oranges either. Maybe apples and pears?
