I wonder if this could be as bad as Opal in 1995. Major damage in Georgia from that storm.
Had a tornado go through the back yard in Atlanta or north of Atlanta in Roswell during Opal.

Yea tonight it should try to go boom.HWRF says we have a a strengthening hurricane in 12 hours.
Similar path. Also resembles Zeta which messed up the NW Atlanta burbs pretty good too.I wonder if this could be as bad as Opal in 1995. Major damage in Georgia from that storm.

HMON and HAFS definitely pound it with shear approaching the coast. Quite a change from yesterday. Gonna be a lot of variables with this.
No way!!! That storm was cat 3 at landfall and had tremendous 17 mph fwd speed.. on the right quadrant.. add the forward speed to those gusts.. unless this thing gets out of hand.. I think it won’t even be close..I wonder if this could be as bad as Opal in 1995. Major damage in Georgia from that storm.
Hopefully you are right. Opal missed us to the west, but Helene nailed us good. The forward speed for both of them were bad news for inland areas. No way!!! Arcc, can you translate this? Is that a bad sign or a good sign in terms of strengthening?Big change here. Clearly big things going on under the hood despite the warmer cloud temps.
