Wintry Winter 26-27

Im hopeful the niño will shift a little west moving forward with the tropical forcing to at least give us a glimmer of hope. There seems like we always need something to go our way living in the south. Ryan Hall Yall has changed his winter outlook already based on certain things fwiw

No offense intended, Mr. Sleet, but I’m hoping to experience sleet like I did both 2 and 9 years ago as that’s my favorite form of precip.

Winter is often around the corner in the Rockies once well into Sept on fantasyland maps that reach into early Oct with little correlation to S US winter prospects. Maps like these are pretty common late on the GFS runs this time of year for them.

There’s likely plenty more warmth to go, regardless, especially away from the Rockies.

I'm still pretty skeptical due to the super El Nino unfortunately

I was just wanting to post something that isn't a guess for 4 months out 😜
 
The current kelvin wave is really starting to get those high AN ssts up off southern California coast. Will be advancing up to san francrazio late sept early oct.
SO much erosion already southern California. One of Those two tropical storms to their south are probably gonna deliver a heavy punch to the chin out there in about 8-10 days. Gonna get 1st shot of many for erosion on east coast latter this week. Lots of property damage coming for both coast next several months. Id also imagine the sierra AND southern Rockies should rack up snow this winter. Probably reverse the misfortunes of the colorado river apocalypse just in time.

Look at the Pacific right now. We are literally following 2015

Actually they are ahead of 2015. Patricia wasn't for a month which is still the strongest hurricane in the entire hemisphere. It's beaten everything else already
 
After a long below-normal stretch throughout the summer, the high Arctic, unlike in recent years, is rapidly cooling back to normal after a brief slightly-above-normal stretch. The AO is projected to go deeply negative soon, so this will likely halt soon.

GEFS shows a deeply negative AO, -NAO, and slightly positve PNA in a week or two. Perhaps we'll get some welcome chill come October after all.

The pna looks start going pretty negative further October we go . Not sure how ao nao go. This elnino gaining quickly stronger
