We've been above normal since February why stop now(really even before that it was just one week in January stopped it)
With the "historic" El Nino I'm not sure it will stop anytime soon

Not a model on the planet this a.m. that doesn't have it cooking in the south land 90+ as we get to experience the 1st day of Met Fall September 1st. Summer can't end soon enough for me.

Falls lake try another pharmacy with better prescriptions. CFS has some nice days couple weeks ahead of this late Sept date. But it was the sexiest, so Ill post it.
These model runs are getting more and more sad.

The good thing is that the hottest and most humid September day is still better than most days in July and August. The sun is not nearly as intense and the sun isn’t out nearly as long.

Really could have used the typhoon recurve but it looks like it's going to go due west that usually spells heat for us. With as much typhoon activity that is modeled we could probably chop some of this heat off in the 2 week period but it might be a little longer than that. 97/98 which is a decent analog had periods of heat into mid October but that year at least had some exceptional cool mixed in

From what I've seen so far on this thread, the title of it was well chosen. Climate wise for most of us, Summer is now four months in duration.

Fool me once - shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. No fall garden - not going to convince myself to just use the hose everyday - been there and wasted my time this spring/summer. I am starting to question my retirement location in the VA mountains - I think I might have to move farther north- not signing up for 4-5 month summer temps and humidity (I can do 3, no more). Climate is changing fast - too fast.

Yeah man I am super skeptical about that backdoor front and even more so with how the Euro backs it west with the big trough in the PNW. That just screams for an eastward adjustment of the heat ridge in time imo. If we can get that backdoor front though would be a top notch first full weekend of college football weather wise especially for us in the wedge zones

Not from what I saw on Pivotal; but... its going to get a lot harder to get obscene heat here pretty quick. GSP's latest ever 100 degree reading is Sept 9th. Any 90s suck; especially after Sept 1st {IMO}, but it's often still hot that first week or two. Yes, 2019, but that was an outlier; just like March 1960 or August 2007. Last year we were pretty much done with the high heat after July but we're just going to have to wait longer this year; maybe all the way to that mid Sept window. I hate waiting on Fall but summer is on it's last legs and will succumb.

Brent, man you have my full sympathy and merits. I just counted 23, 100 degree days since July 21st and you're not done yet. You definitely deserve some refreshing air over your way!
