Misc This Means WAR

I never assume miscalculation on a global stage, especially considering the spying abilities of the US and Israel.
My issue is more with having limited stockpiles of interceptors and not anticipating, or having a strategy, to combat the closure of the Strait. Those are the bigger miscalculations that I see. From a military standpoint, I believe we have accomplished a lot, but the regime is still in power and the strait is in essence, still closed. Regardless of which side of the aisle you are on you have to admit those are blunders.

But are they really blunders? its easy to see "Well that is a blunder." When in essence, its exactly what the powers that be wanted to happen. I refuse to believe that everything that happens is just a whoopsi daisy.

I mean NFL teams themselves spend millions on analytics to determine a tell of a rival QB, his throwing patterns and tendencies. Do we not think our government has a million times more intel?

And its true of all of our administrations, Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden. Behind the scenes is probably a plan.

I will always be of the belief that trump genuinely thought if he dropped a few bombs the Iranian people would rise up and finish what they started before the massacre earlier this year.

It could be, but based on GAWX's friend commentary, that was never even close to reality, like not in the ballpark.

I guess if burning through a large chunk of our missiles, giving Iran control of the Strait and driving gas prices and inflation up was the plan they knocked it out of the park.

The mistake you are making is thinking the current admin has the ability and competence needed to do something useful with all that intelligence they have access to.

Hey but Trump and his cronies that were given private info on his decisions before they were released publicly have made billions on preemptive insider trading… so it hasn’t been all bad for a few people of privilege

Talked with a good friend over the weekend, who served 20 years with the 82nd Airborne Division and retired as a full bird colonel. He served 2 tours in Iraq and had over 200 jumps in his career. I asked him his take on the war with Iran and he pulled no punches… he said “he has no idea what the hell they are trying to do and apparently they don’t either.” Said so far he thought it had been run like a total s***show… and thinks Iran has decided to try to keep the US engaged to run us out of Tomahawks and Patriots. Also thinks they are getting info from Russian and Chinese surveillance on our troops and military asset positions and movements and that they (Russia/China) are keeping up with our launches and are most probably very pleased to see our inventory dwindling

You know at this point, they’re poking Trump. Usually when you poke a bear you bite them hard, but this time it’s a bear who threatens to bite them hard and goes back to bed

I remember asking why we didn't have canopies over the missile mags and getting a blank stare. Doesn't take much effort for satellites to track the fork lifts in and out, let alone the HUMINT gleaned from so many places in damn near line of sight from civilian infrastructure.

I've said before I didn't think China would make a move for Taiwan, but these days I really do wonder what their calculus is. Seeing the US expend so much materiel in the Middle East that has a replacement horizon of 24-36 months gives me some unease. On one hand it could play into their long game of absorbing Taiwan if the US is forced to pull assets from the Pacific, on the other hand if they perceive our ability to reconstitute a force as degraded it might give them reason to make a go for it. Pretty much all the war games expect it to start with a literal bolt from the blue massed attack on US bases out to at least Guam. If we get too short on long range standoff munitions it may be inadvisable to even retaliate against the mainland.

I was watching Sen. Graham’s funeral on YouTube this evening and thought I saw the Shah’s son. I just googled it and it was him:

why is everyone using grahm's death to further their negotiations and agenda? uk and israel in town today, strange

Keep in mind that Graham was VERY supportive of Bibi, Iranian citizens, and Ukraine.

Also, Trump’s eulogy, which stayed in script for most of it, was far better than that disaster of a speech/standup comedy at the White House Correspondents Dinner Friday. Even Hannity, who I’m not at all a fan of, gave a good eulogy.

Hannity is a drama queen

Absolutely and just like his idol, DT! It’s mostly about the ratings! Most of the cable news evening anchors add drama to up there ratings, including folks I agree with more than Hannity.
I'm so tired of everything being entertainment. Hannity It's just weird I have not watched him in probably 10 years.

Same here other than once in a blue moon watching him. I liked it better when it was Hannity and Colmes and watched it often then due to much more balance. Also, back in the day, I liked Bill O'Reilley much more than Hannity. But even he could get dramatic.

Bill O'Reilly never bothered me. Winey Dramatics is what I don't like.

Are you sure about that?

Missles can be easily replaced by a government that has no budget and the Strait?

Pipelines are useless if Iran blows them up....

This is true, but in say three years, do you think Iran will continue to send missiles into other countries just because they no longer transport oil through the Strait?

If you want to completely neuter Iran long term, you make their only bargaining chip worthless.
