the same spot claimed like 20 victims

Busted my knee yesterday in this snow!! I don’t recommend trying to walk your 80lb dog in a a foot of snow walking on uneven land, on your .25 acre lot…. Just sayin. People watching isn’t boring but falling can change your life.

Will the 1st day of school be tomorrow or Monday. LOL, the Kids have missed school for 2 straight weeks here.
Guessing 2 hr delay tomorrow. Going to be mid-20’s tonight and there are at least wet spots on many roads due to the piles of snow on the shoulders.

What a ------ winter, 4 straight under performing events, about 90 on Christmas day, and it's more bleak than some want to say going forward regardless of what the calendar says

I'm sorry and yeah I know we had a decent snowstorm but it was still a far cry from what the models and everyone had or acted like and honestly I'm still not over the 87 degrees two days after Christmas. The snowstorm doesn't erase that

Almost all of the snow here is gone except for a few patches of sleet from the January 24-25 event
It is sad, especially with today’s fail (not sure it can really be described as a fail given expectations were basically zero, but still) and the extended forecast not looking especially favorable. It’s quite possible we’ve seen the last snowfall of the calendar year. But hopefully not, there is still plenty of winter yet to come.

This winter has been under performing and disappointing comparative to what could have happened if conditions had been right for us in the snow hole. I wouldn't say that it is the worst winter I have ever endured though. I can think of several where we didn't even get a whiff of any wintry precipitation.

You mean that fantasy double storm map that finished with a total of 50 inches isn't going to happen?

To say I’m excited is an understatement. We’re staying in this cabin right next to beech mountain for the weekend. I’m a little concerned whether or not we will be able to make it back from the ski resort to the cabin tomorrow night.

That cabin doesn't look too shabby. Hope you enjoy it! You always do great analysis on here.

BTW, you need to charge your phone! 🤣

Guys, it’s just wave after wave of these temps till the end of the month, it over, don’t know what it is about the last 7-8 years (I think this is the new norm) but we pretty much wrap up winter weather after February starts and this pattern sticks around to mid - late March and by then it’s too late. Every year I say this and people get mad but every year it comes to fruition. Too late in the year to get enough cold down for winter storms now. 20 years ago I was excited about February, now it’s the new March, hate it trust me.IMG_2321.jpeg

Well, you get this on Valentines Day. You have that to look forward to.
But by that point spring is coming, maybe with some interruptions, but it is coming.

It snowed a warning criteria snowfall here last February 20th. Same was true in 2020.
