Misc General Banter Thread

Have a question for you folks more knowledgeable than me, if you don’t mind. Here in extreme southeast Bartow county, Georgia, I am surprised by how windy it is right now. I knew we’d be windy tomorrow, but I wasn’t expecting these east winds at 14mph tonight. It hasn’t even started raining here yet, and we probably won’t see anything freezing till after midnight - our temps are dropping, but still at 41, so we have a ways to go. But I was wondering if the winds will help, or hurt, ice accretion?

Had 2 bloody Mary’s, a fireball, now drinking Busch light and starting the fire pit. I’m drinking til I see something frozen in my damn yard.

Fwiw y'all, I went to a certain park that I went to before Helene happened not just once, but "twice." (this park took a while to reopen and the damage was bad)

It's a nice park (if outdated), but I'm afraid I probably jinxed those to my north. Not expecting much here, but there is going to be a swath of ice accretion of 0.5-0.75 to my north.

Been busy! Checks radar…..
Still anemic in the Upstate!!! I guess congrats on zdrizzle, and a fropa, ooooofIMG_4443.png

I never respond to you. So there is nothing to ignore. And I’m half joking in 99% of my posts. You need therapy getting this upset over a message board.
Once again, you do a helluva job projecting. I can promise you I'm far from being upset with anyone on a message board let alone a clown like you.

What should we do with our heat pumps outside the house? Assuming we don't lose power and just have ice buildup... what should we do
I'm thinking about covering mine with a tailgate tent with a tarp over the tent obviously high enough for good clearance . The last ice storm here about killed it when it was uncovered. I just worry about the condensation from the defrost freezing inside of the tailgate tent front problematic

What’s BAM saying?? Did he lose power already? Is he buried in sleet??? BAM, come in! ???

It may be skewed a little bit, but this is one heck of a signal for something that would start in about a week and when we saw the OP send this specific wave to the Bahamas.

Looks stinkin great. But why the gfs? How much to swap the signal to the Weathernext ensembles? Like a reverse card in UNO. We get one a winter.

Central and northeast AL is the new armpit of winter weather. It’s been years since anything meaningful, and I have driven SOUTH on numerous occasions just to get in on some action. We suck! That is all.

It’s going to change next weekend!

When does the new HRR come out? Interested in what’s showing up on it at the coast. We’ve been told there would be an extremely small amount of any at all.

Just use emergency heat and cover the outside unit until it’s over

When did he say that? I looked and didn't see it. Last I saw he said he was concerned we had some zr reports already. I am hopeful it is trending down.

I was on the wcnc app watching it and he said the QPF was trending down just a tad bit but he was concerned because it’s all going to be freezing rain instead of sleet

He followed that up with some new info came in and it looked like it might trend up due to the precip forming right over us, so who knows.
