Misc General Banter Thread

If that thing is right we will have a severe thread by mid afternoon
It’d be preferable. Like I said I don’t want to test the Helene-weakend trees theory or have to keep my very pregnant dog from freezing when it’s 6 degrees and the power’s been out for 48 hours

I get it. 0% interested in freezing rain here, would rather just not have a storm at all

I’m not sure how the interior NC Piedmont avoids a pretty bad storm here outside of QPF bust. Haven’t paid as close attention to your neck of the woods but assume you are in a relatively similar spot to me

I will say I feel zero pressure to stay up and look at any runs. Sleep is going to be great tonight. Pulling hard for some black ice on Monday!!

I feel like we aren't done warming but I keep seeing believable posts and info that make me think maybe we don't get as warm as it seems like we could. I agree though classic wedge zones are in big trouble here

IMO it won’t be enough to avoid bad stuff in the interior wedge for sure. I don’t really think the ZR footprint I just posted in the storm thread is off by much

That is one of the nuttiest inverted trough/western Appalachian escarpment warming signals I have ever seen modeled. And it’s still ZR-ing here at 1pm Sunday. Boy

Is it an alligator or Kermit the frog? Whatever it is, it’s better than shivering in the dark for who knows how long.

I’m starting to think the wedge zones will be more of a nuisance event. We will see I guess.

I'm starting to think maybe it's impossible to accurately predict the placement of a winter storm on the East Coast when all the elements of the storm are thousands of miles away. Even for computers and artificial intelligence.

the end rant over GIF

I think ultimately we are tracking different things. Some only tracking for snow, others for any winter weather, others only against ice, some just to stick it to the mid-Atlantic crew….no wonder we can’t keep up
