Recon data is often a make or break in these situations. I don't believe hrrr has recon data yet, but I do think GFS and Euro 00z should have it.There’s confidence it’s gonna bring it back. If it does it’ll go away tmrw. It’s all a game now.
Just fyi I heard from Jeremy that the data from the hurricane hunters will be in the 0z models tonight.

good question, I don't think so. That is a great question for Bouncycorn. This may sound like a stupid question but do the AI models get this information as well?
The AI models are ran off the OP models, which they then, in the case of the Euro uses 100 years or so of data from actual outcomes to fine tune them. This may sound like a stupid question but do the AI models get this information as well?
Dang…. That’s a solid little event still 8hrs left Seems bullish on the snow (I assume sleet is included in the totals, but still). A foot near the NC/VA border?
I tend to agree.Watch this new data not change a thing lol. I’ll be surprised if we see any difference. UNLESS it shows this storm completely gone now that I would believe.
The NWS does include sleet in snow totals both for forecasting and recordsSeems bullish on the snow (I assume sleet is included in the totals, but still). A foot near the NC/VA border?
Yeah. I'd be surprised if anything changes at all.Wish they had flown to Canada instead of the baja
Wish they had flown to Canada instead of the baja
I’m being honest didn’t even know they did flights for basic winter storms. I don’t get how something may be missing to change any of this but that’s why I read and not post.
When was the last time? This isn't the first winter storm they've done but it's pretty rare
So even they know all this is weirdThis isn't the first winter storm they've done but it's pretty rare
Last weekend. When was the last time?
I think they flew for the Sunday systemWhen was the last time?
3600 gallons of jet fuel we’ll never get backI think they flew for the Sunday system

What's the temps like when she's hauling ____ north?18z Google model really pushing north now...Raleigh down to around 0.5" QPF...primarly low drives up into Ohio and reforms just east of NYC. It's been the northern most model all week. I keep hearing how good it's been so this will be a good test.

That NS wave is just farther north. I bet it still drops in just as the Baja low starts to head east. Same solution just slower. Just a guess tho.believe this gif

That little blip in MT , is farther west tooBaja a little more SW so far. Actually a significant tick. View attachment 187249
Yeah it's like no matter how well they trend apart for 36 hours, the northern wave just makes up the difference by diving southwest later in the run. That NS wave is just farther north. I bet it still drops in just as the Baja low starts to head east. Same solution just slower. Just a guess tho.
I wish we had a wave in the vicinity of the Baja low to tug it west or something.
FWIW
HRRR is farthes N with precip of any model at initiation. Big 18 wheeler of salt tho View attachment 187250
Not unheard of but odd track for classic Miller B, I mean usually don't see transfer to coastal that far north. Not doubting it, it could certainly be 100% correct just not the standard18z Google model really pushing north now...Raleigh down to around 0.5" QPF...primarly low drives up into Ohio and reforms just east of NYC.
