Canceling* my Sunday flight to Hawaii to experience this instead. (*not that the flight has any chance of operating)If the 18z GFS is anywhere close to verifying, I am not getting on the flight to Houston Friday morning.

We’re running out of time to have a chance at a good snow aren’t weThis run was quite about colder at the surface for everyone during the storm. Really insane numbers, but I honestly think they're going to be underdone when it's all said and done.
Heavenly GFS run for you in the ovenJust got home from work. What did I miss?
Nah, we're still in the game. Just gonna depend on how the Radar/Precip evolves on Saturday. I think we snow until about 5-7pm Saturday evening. Just need to get lucky and be in on the front end thump that sets up before then. If that sets up to our North, then, we're screwed on the snow. Still a historic sleet storm though. We’re running out of time to have a chance at a good snow aren’t we
crap run for Ga and SC fyiThis is an insane GFS run
They say sleet is great for sledding but I’m not sure eitherI’ve never actually seen that much sleet before. What does a significant amount of sleet even feel like like I can’t even imagine going outside and seeing that much sleet accumulation
Well, it's a yes and no. to avoid or cut down Freezing rain especially Atlanta and Northeastward. it's a plus. If you want snow, it's a crap run. we got more cycle to change this.crap run for Ga and SC fyi
What do I gotta do to get that 850 line to move south like 300 milesWhat do I gotta do to get that 850 line to move south like 30 miles
do the snow dance, but I want snow, but I will take the sleet that GFS is offering now! What do I gotta do to get that 850 line to move south like 300 miles
A lotta lotta people in the great state of North Caroline are gonna be massively sad/mad when that huge band of snow sadly shifts away from them before gametime
It didn't look too bad? Over an inch of QPF for CLT / Raleigh before the 850 line moves north.I see why no one posted the AIGFS lol

but what will I do with all 400 of these hot hands I bought on amazon yesterday?yeah i mean; there are multiple models/ensembles still showing a situation that us to the south can get rain instead, thankfully
I thought freezing rain was your favorite?yeah i mean; there are multiple models/ensembles still showing a situation that us to the south can get rain instead, thankfully
View attachment images.mp4You know the next time we need it for a storm. It's just going to sit out there and laugh at us.
I thought freezing rain was your favorite?
got a map of that?It didn't look too bad? Over an inch of QPF for CLT / Raleigh before the 850 line moves north.
Through 7 PM Sunday (00z)That's only through 7am Sunday.....

At this range, they are going to lean on ensembles rather than going with the deterministic runs verbatim. They'll adjust as the event nears.Locals are showing temps around 30-31 for highs but the models are showing low 20s
Some places may get several inches of sleet followed by up to an inch of ZR. I'd love snow, but that would be something to behold with the frigid airmasses to follow. At this point, you want that wedge to be as strong as possible to keep the lower levels below the freezing layer as deep as possible and hope for sleet.
Nothing much.Just got home from work. What did I miss?
And it was 80 in Augusta a week later on 2-19-2014View attachment 186558
This was the beginning of the ice storm of 2014 in Augusta. That is 100% sleet, and it sucks so bad, especially when you get ZR on top of it. You can't even go for walks in it, unless you want to bust your tail. This storm is why I hate ice so intensely.
Perhaps you're confusing him with the Wild Weather Monger?I thought freezing rain was your favorite?
