Misc General Banter Thread

Amped up warm fart sandwich.
The GFS/ NAM being amped will eventually lead to us along and south of I-20 getting nothing. It’ll turn into an 85 north storm. Somewhere between the Euro and the GFS would be my vote would also give the chance of light accumulation to the north. Every man for himself so far around here tho

That NAM run was what has been worrying me about this system. Only hope for this area is that the Euro / UK are still East. We'll see what they print out later.

Yo, one thing is for sure.... still surprises and heartbreaks to come. This has been a fun one.... I think we're all kind of hoping it's a surprise banger for someone... but as Webber has mentioned... there's definitely a non-zero possibility this thing just ends up rain with spotty patches of flakes here and there for most of the board! ....that would be a surprise for all of us.

Terrible run for eastern (SC/NC) folks. Good run for western areas. We're in a situation where this will not be a board wide storm. A lot of people may end up happy and a lot not happy.
My hope is this doesn’t turn into a December 2017 again but that’s the way it’s going. At least for us South of 20 in Georgia

Well screw me I guess, I might have to tell my parents that I'm taking a Sunday day trip and try and map out what I'm comfortable with doing tomorrow.

I'm going to have to do some thinking though on if it's worthwhile, and I'm not going to target the bullseye.

I agree simply based on what happens 99% of the time. The long the Euro holds south, the better. But I'm afraid we're almost at the point we may need to give into the NAM... we're getting into that range. ....but man, what a time it would be if i20 could finally get theirs. BIG BIG snow hole there over the last 2 decades compared to the hits north and south

December 2017 is the Mecca for my area NW of Atlanta but sadly I had to leave during the peak of it to go take an exam down in Macon. Saw the first inch or so, had to leave, got back when all hell was breaking loose and there was about 8 inches on the ground. Tree limbs down everywhere and no power. We finished around 11 inches.

Someday I hope to be able to experience something like that again and actually experience the full thing. Also daytime snow is the best

Living in Charlotte, right on 85 is fun

I honestly don't know wtf to expect
It’s what makes it so fun / maddening. Can see us getting rain all morning with no changeover and could also see us getting 1-3” surprise. Will be watching hires models late sat with no clue what is coming I’m sure.

That was epic, except for the period when massive limbs were falling hitting the house.

One day it will just like you said I get the feeling if anything happens it’ll be amped similar to GFS/ NAM. All we need is a little bit less like the 6z Gfs

Normally it plays catch up on moisture feed in these situations. I would watch for an increased moisture fetch on all levels in the next few runs and then see how that plays out at the surface.

Ngl just hoping that everyone gets something at this point

One of the only reasons I feel like it might snow this weekend is that my uncle is coming from Milwaukee and his idea was to get somewhere warmer for MLK weekend. Hawks also play the Bucks on MLK. I just think that would be hilarious if he came down and we got a couple of inches 😂

I just have a feeling for my i20 folks, we'll be south of the rain/snow line if the NAM/GFS's amped up versions are correct.... and north of precip shield if Euro stands it's ground while the others cave to it... Euro is looking like an outlier right now... but it's the Euro... as Mitch said in the other thread... would have to think it would be a huge fail by the Euro if it completely caves to the GFS/NAM.

Regardless, this feels like a kind of hybrid Miller A/overunning... it's a really strange setup. Ultimately, if GFS/NAM and Euro could meet in the middle somewhere, we'd be sitting pretty from Macon, Augusta, Columbia, Raleigh... Would be huge hit for the board.

Especially like last year when the almighty EPS had me at like a 5" mean at four or so days to then rip my heart out.

Its done that to me too and now I'm wondering why I still pay for it haha

I don't even think I've seen over an inch mean here this winter yet

I haven’t seen anything else about the end of the month threats. Are things still interesting then?

There's definitely ensemble noise here... I dunno how well it translates east though

Of course so far nothing in that range has panned out here either

Wow, 12z models looking terrible so far. NAM was still good for central Ga and western NC folks. I'm just wondering what the 12z GFS will spit out.
I'm not hanging my hope on the American models just yet. I told a friend first of the week that when it first showed up, nothing mattered to me until Friday, if they still have it, then I'll take notice... That's just me! It will be hard to get excited tomorrow if it's still just the GFS, and Nam.

Ai Models never budged with surface temps. All I was hearing was how they sucked with surface temps. We shall see.
