Misc General Banter Thread

Are we MORE upset if this thing is suppressed completely off the coast like GRAF/Euro say... or if we personally miss in our backyards? ha... idk... for the majority of the board, seems like we'd be less upset by a complete whifff. haha

At what point do the models start getting a better idea on how much overrunning will occur? Last year places near Atlanta didn't show anything until the last minute.
I wish that was the case, but even when the short range were initially too far south with the moisture, the European consistently had the snow/dry line right around Atlanta even days ahead of the event. Not sure when we'll know for sure about this one

Betting against the euro is like betting against Prime Jordan with the ball on the last possession and down a score.

This is so annoying …. Another Wasted 48hrs of meaningless Hype for a flurry or two and yet another weak positive tilted POS I see. And what’s worse the EURO truthers are gonna be even more insufferable now and in the future

Thing is, its the truth because in the last 26 years I've been following modelling, the euro just very rarely misses.

lol at this point they have been replaced with the ai truthers. it's 72 hours out and believeing the ai's have it all nailed down i think is a bit much. I must have missed the past year or so where the ai's and the ai's only nailed every forecast.

The Euro didn't show anything for Atlanta at this lead time last year. Larry already posted the maps.

No one wants to hear this but this is where if we hadn’t nuked all Midwest and Great Lakes snow cover we might actually have a chance of not torching BL. Even if it meant cold air arrived 1 degree colder I have a feeling that would make all the difference with this system

Where are these maps posted? I must be remembering time stamps wrong.

I don't have any kind of direct link, but he's not wrong. It was looking iffy on impacts outside of far south GA until the final day of tracking.

The difference this time is many will be fighting temps.

Is this what it was like in '70s-early 2000s, not having a single clue of what's going to happen only a couple days out?
yes we had to rely on local mets info through NWS. Lots of surprises and lots of let downs. Only thing that has improved with technology are the lack of surprises...they are rare anymore. More letdowns due to hype and click bait in todays world.

Ha I do remember days in the 80’s where you’d go to school thinking it was going to be 38 and raining and being sent home early cause it was 28 and raining

I'd say we still get the surprises...it's just that they occur 3-5 days out.

This would honestly be a lot more fun if 2 things happened:

1. It actually snowed once in a while and
2. We didn't have new models coming out every moment.

Not sure since I tried searching and couldn't locate the post. The point is no models should be taken verbatim however the trends aren't where we would want them yet.

Vibe shift. Best snow of my life (well, that I was old enough to remember). January 2018 in chapel hill. That’s the batter’s eye at the Bosh in the background.

One day I’ll see 8 inches of snow on the ground again…maybe

I’d like to see Mitch Score … but anyone else in Eastern Parts can suck a mules rear end. Sorry I can respect losing to the Mountains/Roanoke/Foothills even but enough with losing to the freaking PeeDee / Sandhills for godsakes lol like what is this world? Just hope if it comes to it, the mix line sets up just east of Mitch but then 1 mile away everyone from there to the coast is 32.5 -33 degree rain and like 2-3” of it just to sulk in what could’ve been. …. ESPECIALLY NE NC and VA Todewater

I told yall I was scared
Until you move we are screwed...im convinced. Columbia (armpit) to the coast will soon surpass our yearly snow average. Elevation means nothing anymore. Until we get a CAD setup with a true gulf tap we get skunked for measurable snow
