Welp, congrats N. Georgia and areas of the south west of the apps. By verification the I-85 corridor from GSP to CLT will probs be in the cold rain side of things, which I guess we need but still.

Maybe the GFS is being an idiot. As much as the GFS is standing its ground, the Euro has too... Sure it's come NW a tiny bit... but it's not making huge leaps west. Hate to say it, but if the NW trend continues through hour 0 (as some have confidently suggested it will)... this thing ends up in western TN... (as big of jumps as GFS is making run to run)... IMO, it's still somewhere in between the Euro and GFS... Trends NW, yes... but would think there's a limit before positive tilt makes this thing too strung out and zonal... Idk.. just a thought... probably my last bit of hopium

Unless the Euro makes a massive shift, I wouldn't worry about it yet. Besides, we could stand another 100-150 miles. The ideal position with one of these is just north of the rain/snow line. The main reason for the massive over-performance in 8/2017 besides the amount of moisture, the elevation in the areas NW of Atlanta really helped, everywhere above 1k had at least 6 inches because of the onset 32 degrees.
