The Iranian leaders (Mullahs) are bottom of the barrel horrible to the Iranian people, who hate their leadership and have for decades for obvious reasons. I have a decades long good friendship with an Iranian-American. So, I’ve followed this extra closely, which is helped a lot by the inside info he always has. Plus they’ve threatened Israel over and over. So, I haven’t supported what the terrible Iranian leaders have done for the last ~50 years. That being said, Trump repeatedly campaigned very strongly on America first and not intervening in other countries. That’s inconsistent.

It's shocking how so many folks have no idea about Iran before the revolution - one of most progressive countries in the middle east when it came to womens rights, etc.

Not really. That's nearly 50 years ago now. Anyone under 55-60 would only remember Iran like it is now.

The latest from my Iranian-American friend:

1. History would tell them all about that including readily available news/videos (example: showing women in bikinis) from 50+ years ago that are on the internet.

2. Gen Z/mainly young adults are especially extra passionate about ending the current regime. That likely calculates to close to 30+ million folks. The Mullahs are getting more concerned about this large group. More and more young women are now bravely going outside without head coverings! They’re not even close to yet all being in the streets, but an increasing number are and eventually nearly all of them might demonstrate if momentum continues.

3. Keep in mind that ~80% of current Iranians aren’t supporting the Mullahs.

4. That unfortunately still leaves ~20% (~20 million) that support them and who would be willing to demonstrate for the govt. However, only ~50%/~10 million would be willing to fight for the govt and perhaps only ~5 million might be willing to actually die in support. However, that would still be a lot of extremely passionate armed people to overcome. They’d fight very hard because to them it would be a ticket to heaven.
