Misc This Means WAR

Back in 2008 I believe the Venezuelan government took over all of the oil industry which meant they took over all of the US companies infrastructure. In the least, these oil companies should get back their infrastructure and/or the amount of money it was worth.
They had already sued and won a lawsuit I'm not sure if they had received any money yet but they had already won a lawsuit to reimburse them for their losses

The remaining infrastructure is junk. It’ll all have to be rebuilt.

It's not about oil folks it's about significant rare earth element deposits in an unstable country and we just happen to do something about it before Russia and China. Would you rather they have gone in because you can't stand Donald Trump? Venezuela isn't the only upheaval coming in 2026 so buckle up as one lie after the other is exposed. The Cabal just had an MIT professor and renowned plasma physicist murdered because AI isn't the only quantum technology on the verge of changing the world. When plasma energy comes online it will begin the slow death of oil being used to power the planet and it will literally change the world and how we live in it.

It's always about oil just like Iraq. Highly doubt they become independent this year or next. But it could possibly happen. We need to cut off our adversaries and get it right here in our own back yard Venezuela Canada ect. Along with building up our Navy. We need to dramatically increase our ship yard production like WW2. China is our biggest threat imo and Russia expanding their borders in the next few years. NATO and the U.S need to be prepared. WW3 could happen if the right precautions are not implemented shortly we will be hurting. We need more investment in chips semi conductors.

Funny enough, this is one area where I actually completely agree with Trump and Rs despite being on the polar opposite side of the aisle. The rest of the world is not our problem. Technological parity and demographics have changed the world. It's not the cold war anymore which is the only way some (baby boomers) can picture the world. I'm not saying you haven't though this through but listen from the perspective of someone under the age of 50 who has seen this country be in a hot war for over 20 years of my life. There's zero appetite among the younger Gen x, millennials, and Gen z for overseas war. Iraq/Afghanistan and the 2008 financial crisis have wrecked the younger generations in ways the elders can't really comprehend unless they're old enough to have served in Vietnam. Worry about North America and South America and keep up relations with whoever we can beyond that.

To China though, I think there's a lot of scaremongering there from right-wing media and has been for a long time. China is not a military threat to the US. Their leaders and population find it bizarre certain segments of Americans focus so heavily on "communism" and things of that sort. Unless their culture does a 180 from what it's been for thousands of years they aren't going to turn into the Soviet Union and look to spread their system of government around the world. Our biggest issue right now is viewing the challenges of today and tomorrow through the lens of the past. The Chinese want to make money. They want to make LOTS of money. They also want to be top dog in their corner of the world. That's fine, but it does run up against US interests in that region. The best path forward is always diplomacy. Taiwan is not so much critical to the day in day out function of our modern world, but their cutting edge stuff is necessary if we want to be the ones pushing the envelope forward and not the Chinese. Most of the semiconductors used in automobiles, machine tools, consumer appliances and so on are either domestically produced or come from South Korea and Japan. We don't want to go without what the Taiwanese produce unless we can make it ourselves I agree, but it's not worth getting into a shooting war over IMO.

Russia should not be underestimated but they also shouldn't be overestimated. Russia of today is not the Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact of the 1980s. The only realistic place they could expand is either Belarus when their current leader dies or bite off more of Georgia. With the US increasingly seen as an unreliable partner the Euros are finally getting serious about combatting the issue of Russia more on their own and I don't doubt they will. They have advanced economies and most importantly motivated populations to keep the Russians out.

One of my Iranian friend/industry partner flies down there once a month to see his "friends". Its definitely on my list soon to spend a few days of leisure. Medellín is where its at. 3 hour direct flight, great food, and all the rest.

Snitches get the Clinton treatment

I've been to Colombia 7 times and I can say the women are very beautiful for sure. Natural beauty, no make up queens.
What cities? Its definitely on my to-do list soon. The people are great, the food is great, all of the things.

I really hope there are some adults in the room and put a stop to this kind of stuff. Trump has had an obsession with Greenland going back to when Obama was in office. It's utterly bizarre.

I genuinely don't think the average person on the street realizes just how much their life will change for the worse if we turn into a full fledged rogue nation and attack the territory of an ally. Forget the military implications (and I truly believe the man thinks they won't shoot back), economically this would be a disaster. $1.5 Trillion dollars a year in trade is at risk.

I've been to Cartagena for work and it didn't seem any different than Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic. Very Caribbean culture. No idea about the cities in the mountains though.

Cartagena and Cali but i drove through some bad streets. All in all its a great place to visit. Great food and yes the women and nice to look at as well. I felt safe with some guides kind of watching over us.

Oh yeah it’s about the oil but it’s not like we’re just going to take it. Trump mentioned oil companies going in fixing infrastructure and making the country rich. Hopefully with many benefits to the US. We’re there no drug boats coming from Venezuela? The drug trafficking gave an opportunity for the commie regime change and it was accomplished with 0 casualties on either side. The country is celebrating the capture of Maduro. What am I missing? Where is the down side to any of this?
Agree. Just politics as usual look here while I do something else. But I don't see our oil companies rushing to invest billions anytime soon until they see stability and gas is to low for a profit. So atm it's just bad business definitely don't see any significant positives either though. The VP is just as corrupt so what did we accomplish that's the real question. Yeah Maduro is a crook but so what Trump's pardoned others for less.

Like I said weeks ago.....one word.....OIL!!! And for those still on the kool aid. The VP in charge now is a Loyalist. Nothing will change as far as the cocaine dealings and corruption goes. It's about bending to the United states intrests on oil.
Its oil, drugs, unelected dictator. All the listed and not listed.
But lets talk about Oil. The US doesnt need venezuela oil. Venezuela only is tapping at best 10% of probably the biggest oil reserve in the world. Their citizens could go back to life 20+ years ago and be really well off, had a socialist, commie drug lord regime not taking over. But save that angle for another time.

Lets get back on target here. OIL. . CHINA is the biggest consumer of oil from Venezuela, Iran,Russia. China has No place else to turn to.

You guys have to understand the AI race. The winner of that race cant win it without energy. It takes the equivalent of what it takes to power the metro area of Denver to power just 1 AI farm ( regular whse) per day. And then some. Think about this for a moment. On top of all the earth minerals, chips race etc. If you cant mustard up the energy, step 1. You lose. Checkmate. This is a whole other topic, but if we had journalisim in America and not a paid for/owned legislative branch of govt ( both sides/all of em = worthless), we would be well versed, educated on this gigantic hurdle that will determine who holds upper hand on the world stage going forward. It will make you cringe to see how these AI centers are popping up, rellying solely on currentt grid structure to supply their energy. Our grid is archaic, outdated. Who do you think will be without power 6 hours out of 24 hour day, in order to meet demand in very near future? Want be that AI center that has to run 24/7. It will be our neighborhoods. Anyway..

Getting off point here, but to steer it back on track. Folks we are at world war already... East verse West. We cannot allow China,Russia,Iran an its proxies to be camped out right below us. China is funneling fetanoyl via venezuela, mexican cartels etc, trying to tear us down. They are using other means as well. But why give them the house next door on our street ( western Hemisphere) to just throw matches at our house all day. All this Greenland talk you hear. Look at the barage of chinese, Russia ships hoovering around there. Got to wake up to whats really going on, big picture here. America/ west has to be brung down in their view. Whatever it takes.

Blows my mind, by 11 am saturday morning, cities across the usa, had these pro Maduro protest . Bunch of whites, 99%. With Printed signs in hand on the move. Nothing organic. All organized, rapid fire response. Look at NYC, Chicago, LA ,Portland mayors. They are self proclaimed socialist,Commies. This is being done by design. Dribble by dribble. And they are being put in power by folks with blinders over their eyes, lapping up false promises of free this, free that etc.

So the USA interest on oil, aint to just recover our investment, get more in market, drive down price. Its to squeeze life out of east, China. The race is on an its real. Energy for AI, is the lane its in. You let the east, China get upperhand. Its adios western civ, USA.

These people don't know anything about anything. They would protest clean air if they were told to.

Gonna disagree there. Iran is only a threat to their neighbors. Russia has zero ability to project force.

For all the talk of the AI race with China, it’s important to understand that oil matters very little there. They are rapidly converting their entire transportation fleet to electric power. Power that’s increasingly supplied by renewable energy. In 2025 they passed (by conservative estimates) 1 TW of production from solar alone. Yes I said Terawatt. 1,000 GW. They knew 20 years ago oil imports were a vulnerability and have addressed it. They’re more than happy to buy what oil they need from Russian and haven’t stopped. Their main vulnerability is still transporting that oil through a place we love to talk about, the Straight of Malacca aka right smack in the middle of the maritime continent.

I’m not suggesting China is about to dominate the US for the next 50 years. What I am saying is the ship has sailed vis a vis the US being the sole superpower. The Cold War afterglow is over. That’s okay, although I get that it’s a bit scary of a change. Our options are very limited in what we can do to influence their policies. Great Power competition is something we’re rusty at and most of us alive don’t have any experience with. I think we’ll figure it out peacefully. I just hope we get through the current debacle of a government with all our fingers and toes still attached.

I couldn't ever believe a word obama or biden said either.
At one point, Trump said we were going to take over and own Gaza, too, so it just gives reason to doubt him saying basically the same thing about Venezuela. Some would say it’s just a negotiating ploy, and maybe it is.

I would legit be nervous if I was Greenland leadership though....Trump really wants those Greenland resources.

You make some valid points here, but they definitely need a lot of oil for the foreseeable future, as we do. The one thing I do want to say is I do not feel China is a threat militarily to us, because both parties know the economic fallout that would occur as a result. I still feel our biggest threats are all internal and/or cartels.

Agreed I was looking into the China angle after I posted yesterday. We definitely need to keep there influence out of our back yard. And stay ahead with A.I it's the space race of our time.

What does worry me though is who's to say China doesn't cook up some charges on Taiwan's president and do an operation similar to ours. People look to the United States for presedent. It's like hey they done the same thing so why can't I? Then our argument is well our charges were legitimate and yours isn't. Slippery slope if you ask me.

Now trumps floating the idea that we reimburse oil companies for rebuilding the infrastructure. After 5 years of record shattering profits we are gonna bail them out again?
Don't think they gonna go down their and voluntarily do it for nothing/ spend billions. Unfortunately No one in Venezuela knows how to either. Otherwise, they would have been harvesting higher than 10%. I get your drift though.
Apparently that oil is harvested much different than say Mid East area. Lot more complex, but lot more value as well is my understanding. This is more about preventing China from getting a dribble than it is getting it up and going , so Venezuela can pivot back to capitalism, get on their feet, self sufficiency in my opinion.

I'm the last one to chime in AI forecasting per say. But I am astounded in researching how much juice it takes to power this stuff. Which comes in all sorts of shapes sizes etc.
Saw where a center ( AI farm) somewhere Baltimore or MD area I believe. caused the rates of the locals energy prices to go up like 200-300% inside a 10 mile radius. They say you don't want one of these popping up within 15 -20 miles of you going forward. Speed to beat the competition, only forces the issue to hook onto whatever it can asap. Only source for that right now is our Grid system.

Taiwan is a high IQ, high tech, modern civilization with a high standard of living. If you want to make an apples to apples comparison you would akin the operation in North Korea or Laos, in which no one would argue.

That would be the difference trumped up charges versus real charges
