Something drawn up better would be a reverse wedge, downsloping and heating the air east of the apps, I’m talking 70s and 80s
 
We good boys. Off to a great start, just a little hiccup next 10 days. When all is said and done we will be grading this weather out an A- in my area. Only bad omens will be the warm Christmas Hollidays and not as much qpf as we all need. Hang in there.
Got 35 coming over to the house tommorow for the real reason for the season. So no complaints here with the 5os and sun. Keep the rugrats outside.
By the way, Im Fixing to fire the ole smoker up all night and fix barbecue the way it will be served in Heaven. Eastern NC Style.

Even if we track something and it doesn't pan out, it still beats sitting around looking at the same orange maps over and over.

chasing Pattern changes sucks so bad! I can’t believe I’m going to be sitting in the 50s up here on Christmas Eve and Day! About 25 degrees above normal!

I noticed the 12z suite today featured big cool downs on 12/28 and 1/4 on the GFS/EURO/CMC, but were basically gone on the 18z. Then this. I suppose there may big swings either way, but it's good to at least see some possible good stuff thrown out there.
 
The AIFS did the same exact move as the AIGFS, with a cold shot around day 9-10

Also not a bad look, move the trailing wave to a lower latitude and you can cook something up IMG_0887.png
Some interesting moves by the AI models, but the AIGFS ens isn’t exactly biting yet. slight change in a better direction though IMG_0890.png
