I highly recommend watching the Bears game today, if you have a chance!! Noon game, LES event 2-5” an hour and thundersnow! 12-20” forecast plus! Should be over them right at game time!
My timing was off apparently, but looks to be snowing there already, just nothing mind blowing! Pics will be epic tonight and tomorrow it sounds likeIMG_3082.png

Unfortunately the better snow is late tonight and rush hour tomorrow morning. No accumulation on the cameras yet

Wow Chicago could get over a foot of snow ? I wonder if they have ever had that much snow so early in the season.

Chicago hasn’t had a 12”+ snowstorm this early per official Chicago records. Of course it remains to be seen if they’ll get 12” officially. The official forecast is for 8-12”, which is difficult to achieve and historic enough, especially for lake effect!

The records have been at the well inland O’Hare Airport since 1980 and were at the not as inland Midway Airport 1942-79. Prior to that they were closer to the lake.

Keeping this in mind: the official Chicago record heaviest Nov snowfall for a single storm is 12.0” (11/25-6 of 1895), then 11.2” (11/20-1 of 2015), and then 9.3” (11/6-7 of 1951):

THE FOLLOWING IS THE UPDATED LIST OF THE LARGEST SNOW EVENTS
DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER FOR CHICAGO DURING THE PERIOD OF

1. NOV 25-26 1895 12.0
2. NOV 20-21 2015 11.2
3. NOV 6-7 1951 9.3
4. NOV 26-27 1975 8.6
5. NOV 27-28 1891 6.0

The map Tarheel posted shows that Chicago could get over 2 feet. Do you believe that is possible ?

In a localized area very close to the Lake? It’s possible. Much of the city getting ~12”? Quite possible. The forecast for the city is for 8-12”. Officially though is well inland (O’Hare). I see it virtually impossible they’d even get close to 2’ and highly unlikely they’d get to 12”. I’m thinking ~6” is tops for O’Hare. Even 6” there would be a major event, especially for Lake effect!

Woah. CPL final in ottawa right now

Our courses closed mid October, until about late April or May! 👀

I got a new HVAC 2 months ago. My compressor stopped running. I have to have 3 outside fuses. They came out yesterday to inspect/diagnose. That was $90. Today I got an estimate of $345 for them to come back and have the new fuses be installed. So, would be total of $435.

This isn’t covered by my warranty because it’s not the system, itself. Ok, but does $435 sound reasonable for the total of the charges including inspection visit? Plus they have to come out today anyway to look at my filter that had rust on it when I replaced it after 2 months and was also very hard to remove as I had to bend it to get it out. On my old system I had never seen rust on the filter nor was it so hard to remove.

After complaining that it seemed high, owner reduced it because it was priced as if I were a random customer. So, today’s cost will be $255 instead of $345 meaning total of $345 including yesterday’s inspection instead of $435. Better but still sounds like a lot lol. Plus they’re coming out anyway due to filter, which itself is covered under warranty.
