November 2025

Could get a strong cold front ( March Style ) 11/8-11/14 ish. One where you get severe, followed by cold drop in temps backside. See it being advertised on the ops out in la-la land pretty consistently.

Scenario , would mesh with the forecasted pattern and climo.

Here's GFS latest coughed up scenario. Actually spits out a whopper of one on 11/8 and my fav,a few days latter. We shall see, but we tend to get a nasty front or two to plow through each November.

Chasing a steamroller front and watching cable news reports of the first Big Lake Effect Snowstorm of the season, generally describe the November highlights as a wx watcher.

oh and I forgot to include The 1st MEGA Frost of the season as November Highlights.

Not to be confused with the limp wristed 1st couple of scattered frost we get every season. This is one where the tree limbs along the creek / stream banks , get coated etc.

I love a good day where you get into the mid to upper 60's early morning to lunch time with a true cold front coming through and temps drop 20-30 degrees behind it with NW winds pushing 20-30 mph. 65-70 at 10 am and 40 by 2 pm. Classic late fall and winter stuff.

Just a reminder, The MJO holds a lot of weight. Almost a carbon copy pattern coming up as the phase 6 composite. Probably gonna be slightly above normal but stale overall given the troughing hanging nearby. Now let’s see what happens when it enters the west pacific/whem in late Nov 👀 IMG_9415.pngIMG_9414.pngIMG_9413.jpeg

Last year... Tornadoes and flooding during the time change

This year looks a bit differentsmall2 (8).png

Whether this counts as true winter weather is up for debate, but tomorrow during the day, I believe that parts of southern TN, northeast AL, and northwest GA will see convective showers heavy enough for the chance of graupel and possibly small hail to mix in with rain as a result of a low freezing line and deep cold air aloft. For early November I would be thrilled to experience anything like this involving icy or wintry precipitation. There’s always a possibility that it comes down so hard that the ground is briefly coated, but highly unlikely from the warm temps expected tomorrow at the surface.

Finally frost everywhere here

We've been behind y'all back east on cold weather but the last week has been a huge flip for sure 😂

Although next week is looking pretty warm again

I’ve got a long family cruise in mid/late November so let’s keep the tropics quiet and the cold out west. Pump that SER into Thanksgiving 🦃 🤞🏽
On the SS Southernwx?
To keep it wx related, hit 31 this am, with freezing fog! Coldest of season so far! I truly believe December is gonna be a banger for snow and cold! I’m predicting now: white Christmas for MBY! 🤘
