Misc General Banter Thread

I'm starting to hate this hobby between this and all the people who act like this weather has never happened before or as I read last night that "they remember it snowing most years around Halloween" 😂 🤣 🤣

Definitely was NOT anywhere near this state
The weather for the next 10 days in Tulsa is Ridiculous. I can understand a couple days here and there with temps well above normal, but 10 straight days ? What is going on ?

It’s like when people claim that it snowed all the time or White Christmases were commonplace in their childhood. That just hasn’t been true for anywhere but a narrow part of the country over the last 100+ years (and likely longer, maybe since the ice age, LOL). People just remember a White Christmas or two and superimpose that over their entire childhood. It may be true that White Christmases are less common than they used to be for some, but they were never common in the first place!

Right I don't know what expect here... I mean yes our climate is still a little better than where I grew up in Alabama but like at the end of the day we're still a days drive from the Gulf of Mexico... It's amazing to me we can even get down below zero in the winter with some regularity! 😂

I think Tulsa has only had like 12 White Christmases ever and half of them are a trace! Not great

I haven't even see more than a dusting here before January since I moved in 2021

NWS says drier conditions next weekend with minimal rain chances but Weather.com says lots of clouds and precip next weekend. Which is it guys ? Why so much discrepancy ?View attachment 175269
I don't acknowledge anything from an auto-generated twc forecast unless it is at least 70%. The 40% illustration should show partly cloudy with a lightning bolt or something, clouds and showers is misinformation associated with 40 & 39%.

Everyone that was hyping our cold front now says there is no cold front...
Our northeast flow for later this week is still there, but 50s for overnight lows are evaporating, at least here.

Fall is just gone. It's such a great time of year. Or at least it used to be. Now at least 50-75% of it is summer.

Anyone have a guess as to when the first big cold front will come through the south with widespread 40s at night ? Serious replies only. Don’t say something silly like December or January.

You’re far to the south compared to a lot of the board so probably November for you. The rest of us would typically see that the week before or of Halloween.

I’ll go with October based on the climo that shows that even down here 85% of Octobers have a coldest <50. The only ones since 2000 not <50 were 2007, 2019, and 2020. In 2024, it went down to 40 and to 38 in 2022! Actually, a coldest of 30s is significantly more common than a coldest of 50s.

It was in the upper 30s here in Mid October last year !

Americus climo very heavily favors 40s or 30s for coldest in Oct. A lowest of 50s has hardly ever happened.

I’m just hoping for mid 50s at this point. I don’t see anything below 55 for the next 2 weeks !
More times than not we hit 40s by September, that obviously isn't happening this year. Surely before the end of October we will see something, but I don't know.

GFS says summer continues. This is relatively close to you in Columbus.
