Pattern May or May not

Had a brief bout of mid 80s to 90 degrees this week! Finally back to normal after the weekend IMG_0724.png

This stuff rolling east out of the pee dee means business. Pea sized hail and already an inch of rain at my location. Lots of lightning and thunder.

Storms training nicely just to my west, .25 here so far but some areas only 5 miles from me pushing 2" within last hour.

Incredible rains under those storms. We had exactly 2" in the digital gauge and maybe a touch more since power and wifi were lost for about 8 minutes. I'm now up to 6.22" for the month which is the largest monthly rainfall total without a TS/Hurricane involved since July 2020.

If we can make it through the next couple days without hitting 90, many of us will buy a couple more weeks without having to worry about it. Its always nice to make it to at least June without the 90s.
This post has a lot of winning in it.

I got around 1.6" over the last few days. Still not enough, but I'm happy I got what I did. Here's the total QPF over the last 7 days:

That's low. My dad lives in Greenville and this was his neighbors rain Guage. That 3.6 is low. Also know @WeatherNC is the pgv area andni believe he had over 4 as well. Screenshot_20250513_170945_Messages.jpg

Last 24 hours basically doubled my total for the event up to 3.8 since Sunday
Even after 3-4 inches we somehow are still down 3.4 for the year. This did go a long way to helping with the fire risks down along the coast though.Screenshot_20250515_123633_Chrome.jpg

Temps seem rather moderate across the 48, but dang Summit Camp Greenland is near the freezing mark and Mt Everest is forecast above freezing this upcoming week. Is this normal? I've never looked at a Summit Camp Greenland forecast and seen it near 32 degrees.

Just boarded… what route are you taking CLT->OMA ?

Spectacular wx outside this morning 57 with a 10mph breeze out of the NE. Got days of this coming up after hopefully some rain tonight into wed a.m.

Gotta say these low DP days coupled with the wind, isn't ideal for growing your groceries. Lets all pray we don't have a repeat of last June. The 8 week stretch from mid May to mid July, is when we need our rain the most out of the 12 month year.

Glenn Burns said a couple of days ago that highs will be in the 60s and lows in the 40s later this week. This is the latest forecast for Atlanta.View attachment 172858

Yeah, it's not looking as if the cool Memorial Day will pan out in Georgia at least.

I'm fine-ish with it because I planned a quick beach trip. Sorry folks.

But I am still grateful it'll break back below 90.

Edit: Did just take a cursory look and at least for places like Greenville and Charlotte, while it does look as if it'll be cooler, it won't be 60's type stuff like people thought...

Not all of Georgia will even be below 90 after the Cold Front moves through ! Valdosta is forecast to be 94 after the Cold Front on Friday and 97 on Sunday !

GFS says enjoy this weekend, whatever you get, cause the heat really cranks the first week of June. I'm hoping the long range GFS continues to overdue heat and this will moderate some, but we know its coming eventually.

Unless something changed with this model it's 5-7 degrees too warm. It'll still be hot though.
