Misc Cold Season Complaining

Gonna post it here since I don't want to clog up the main severe thread.

Man, has it been nasty, summer esque type weather in most of the East. I had a strong storm develop right on top of me and just saw lightning flash right in front of my window and heard a huge crash of thunder.

I wore heels dancing a year ago. Next morning I could not put weight on my left foot. Diagnosed plantar fasciitis by dr. It was bad for months. Wearing orthopedic insoles in my sneakers helped. I avoided heels (and guys should probably avoid hard heeled dress shoes) and wore sneakers literally everywhere.
About six months in I started doing intense stretching.. 30 second gentle pulls on my calf muscles morning and night. I used one of those green nylon exercise straps for that. Within a few more months I was just about pain free. I don't have to stretch as much now.

Data shows critical staffing levels at National Weather Service

Detailed vacancy data for all 122 weather field offices show eight offices are missing more than 35% of their staff — including those in Arkansas and Kentucky, where tornadoes hit with torrential rain on its heels this week.

Just insane that we’ve had multiple days like this where it’s still in the 70’s near midnight…in early April.

Another uncomfortable sleeping night on tap for me since I can’t pull my electric blanket yet (it’s been off this week).

Maybe another gentle front in a few days but a lot of 80/60 type weather showing up on the 16 day, was hoping that would wait another month or so. Maybe we'll get another front or two fist half of May. Gonna be a long six months for us cool weather fans.

It's somewhat cruel that the Carolinas east of the mountains have had beautiful springs since 2020. Like a switch was fllipped. The only issue is we've had so little rain in April & May aside from 2020 the growing seasons have been junk without irrigation.
