Couldn’t have said it any better. We still have a few folks in our neighborhood who kept up their Christmas lights and seeing them on with the snow was amazing. First time my kids have ever seen that. It was kind of fitting in a way after so long with no frozen precipitation that we got the whole spread last night. I wasn’t disappointed because I knew what to expect going in. Was pleased to see several hours of pure snow and don’t think we could have done much better around these parts. Wasn’t our pattern! Agreed on the big dog, I’m ready wherever I’ve gotta go. It’s time.Seeing Snow Melt is up there with taking all the Christmas decorations down for me. Anticipate and love Winter wx, Christmas always. Hate to see em come an go so fast.
Beatifull winter evening out. Nice fresh artic breeze, little white ground lyeing around under the Moonlight an stars.
Ill take whatever winter wx nature throws my way. But im ready to big dog chase. Roll the dice on Jan 20-25. I can roll up the road an be on the blue ridge parkway in 90 mins if mby ends up missing.

Man you should have seen the live coverage from TR. They didn’t know how to handle that warm nose. You would think it was the first time any of them had seen a sleet pellet. Welcome to the show! Those 700mb warm noses! View attachment 162934
Fortunately I park my vehicle majority of its time in the garage. The times I haven't had the luxury this winter or any winter previously I always hook up a battery support to get the voltage back up in the battery before starting. Our SUV is from 2003 with over 260k miles and Ive only had the change the battery twice over the last 12 years. Cold definitely drains the starting voltage in car batteries. Battery support helps build the voltage backup and once it reads close to 13 volts it starts right up as long as there are no other issues within the cars system. Wired battery support units that plug into an outlet are cheaper but investing in a good one either wired or battery pack are valuable assets to have in your car.I honestly could use a brief warmup at this point. I feel OK now, but was feeling a bit rough earlier this morning and my chest was hurting a bit (it's respiratory related).
Don't know if hitting 60 would be enough, but it'll have to do.
Of course, even though I'm asking for this, I think brief warmup, only to have temps crash lower quickly afterward is going to probably kill the battery in my car. It's felt like it's been barely starting to me on the really cold days.
My dad was saying this morning that this is the coldest he's seen it since I was a senior in high school, but I think he's one year too early. I'm pretty sure he's remembering 13/14, and as of right now, the max high temperature is actually a touch lower than what it was in January 2014.
