Pattern -NAprilO

Felt like the heat of summer out there today! RDU hit 90 today! A new daily record high! 🔥

1. ATL was 87 (record).
2. For 4/4, RDU’s low was 73, which beat old record by 10, is new alltime April high min beating 72 of 4/29/2017, and crushed the old earliest in season 73 by 38 days!

It would be very funny if RDU has its first 90 before its last freeze. Has that ever happened before?
I think it may have happened IMBY in 2007. We were at least close to 90 in late march and then hit 24 on Easter and had snow showers later that April.

Picked a helluva a day to cut the grass for the first time this year.

Oppressive

I cut mine last week but it already needs it again. I’m out of diesel so I’ll wait. I’ve been cutting blackberries out of our pens that I let go for two years and I can’t keep hydrated.

Did OKC end up getting accumulating snow or was it a bust ?

Pretty much a bust outside the Panhandle from what I saw but Norman never issued even an advisory either so I guess they didn't expect much

I wasn't that surprised. We were consistently in the 40s last night and the morning precip was weak for the first time all week which didn't help

I read the warning and it said radar confirmed. It looked like a QLCS spin up. Very hard to detect with much notice.

Yeah I was surprised to even see any warnings tbh

Pretty much thought it was a flood threat nowScreenshot_20250407-065601_RadarScope.png

Whatever it was just crossed 75 in Henry County

@SD is this going to be like 3/31's supercell outbreak, where it went into Apex?
I doubt it. Probably going to force a line here with wind being the primary threat. Maybe a qlcs tail end of a line segment spin up. I'd favor east of 95, the US1 to 95 corridor is so locked in with clouds it would take some thinning or breaks of sun for this area to really maximize the storm potential

I assume this upcoming freeze will be similar to 07 as far as effects. I don't think a single model is cold enough on 2mTs unless we catch a break with it staying breezy
It’s a shame. I’ve got dozens of baby peaches on my trees.

Streets are flooded in west Greenville. An unfathomable amount of rain falling IMG_2541.jpegIMG_2540.png
