Misc Cold Season Complaining

If this is the one you always talk about you should stop listening doesn't seem like they are very good

Yeah he seems to be one extreme to another he hyped a Wednesday a couple weeks ago that ended up being sunny 🤣

I just can't believe that a cold snap the first week of December didn't give us a jan 2000 march 1993 hybrid system. I mean if it's cold it should snow right? I hate we are using prime climo on wasted cold. You know this is going to be the old cold this winter. One time we had a cold day in December and the rest of the season wasn't cold so you know that's what's going to happen. I also can't believe that the day gfs was wrong when it was wildly different than the euro. Winter sucks. I dont know why I post at a weather site when all I do is complain

That sounds awesome
It’s a little less awesome on a Sunday night after taking a rather scenic route back to state to avoid interstate traffic and having several others things due this week.

But that’s what the music and webcam is for! And it could be worse, it’s interesting stuff

Looks like this cold spell is going to be a waste of cold for here with no snow to show for it. Winter just doesn't winter like it used to.

you weren’t even alive in 1981
Most on here were not. I was 9 that year and the summer was fairly hot and dry. I'm not sure the board could handle a winter like we had in 1981-82 though. It started with an icestorm right before New Years Day and continued into January, which is maybe the coldest month I can remember. There was one day I do not think it ever got above 14 degrees and at least 3-4 straight days with lows of 3-5 degrees. It featured back-to-back snowstorms here in the southeast too. The Atlanta snowjam was in January 1982 also.

What the chance Northern upstate sees flurries or a light snow
Feeling cynical here; it doesn't seem like there is any pattern that will ever lead to snow for us ever again. There's always a fly in the ointment; too warm at 850, too warm at the surface, dowslopping, too far from the Atlantic, too far South, too far West, too far East...it just seems like it can't happen anymore.

I honestly think it’s never going to snow in the upstate again besides some rogue flurries by accident here and there. And I think 1-20 and below will never see snow again at all.

it does feel moreso than usual like we're facing 3rd down and 14 for every pattern to get something together

Wilks is pulling a Kevin Martin and issuing advisories now, lol
Being in the larger weather enterprise and having other entities impersonate my own professional forecasts, I can tell you that isn't something I think very highly of.

Any and everyone is entitled to discuss and make their own predictions, but don't package them as if they represent a professional organization. If you (they) beat the professionals, feel free to boast about it afterwards too. All fair game, except for the impersonation. It's hard enough to get the message out and above all the noise and other social media voices out there as it is these days without that rubbish murking up the waters even more.
