Presidential Election 2024

A big problem is going to be these lifelong congressional members. That means not just the Democrats like Pelosi or Schumer. It means McConnell and Grassley, even Graham.

These old timers, some new ones like Gaetz are going to keep leading the Republican party towards a direction that is either too conservative or too divisive.

We need to use this as a time to realign the whole party.

We need term limits. Badly. But how the Hell are we going to get these old timers and lifelong snakes to vote for it?

This is a time for Trump to smack congress into line and realize that there is still a little under half of the country that was willing to vote for someone who was never given votes into a presidential race.

I know for a fact that Trump isn't a die hard conservative Republican if yesteryear. All the media framing him as so, or even worse is part of the problem, but I put a large chunk of it on these idiots in congress doing the wrong thing.

We don't need to take Medicai or food stamps from people in a mass cut. We need to clean up the rules and application guidelines so people who need it get it and not the people abusing it.

We don't need green energy eviscerated, we need to invest in sustainable companies and technology that makes sense. Forced mandates on ancient infrastructure makes no sense. It needs to be done like Greensburg Kansas did after the monster tornado.

There is so much we need to do or change, for the better of everyone, but man congress will still suck.

We need term limits for everyone elected.

The media, especially social media, has ruined our society. All we have been hearing is "Hitler" "racist" "end of democracy".

It's not true for Americans as a whole. Get these bad apples out of congress, police force, corporations/lobbyists.

The key is unity and a return to a country people are proud of.

Trump has a chance to do this round right. I hope he does.

The media has been lying to you:

Seems like America is so full of hate with this news:

I personally have 0 issue with this AT ALL.

Trump won MIzzou tonight, with 58 percent of the vote but yet:

Seems like common sense politics (for a change) to me.

In closing. Here's the deal. Trouble makers are still going to try and be divisive. Companies like MSNBC, who are already screaming vile rhetoric in their lashing out have already begun.

It's up to everyone to either a. Interact with it or b. Ignore it.

Some people will say "you wouldn't be so nice if Kamala won instead" and that's actually true. I personally wouldn't be. Why?

Because the messaging in this election has been how white men and women are racist. How we hate people that don't have our same skin color. How we are fascists or Nazis. How we don't want women to have a say about their own bodies.

The entire message was division. Oprah even said if trump won, that people would probably never be able to vote again.

A Kamala win would have kept division since their whole message was division.

More than half of the USA said enough was enough. Not just an electoral college, which in itself is divisive in past elections.

So again, you have a choice to interact with people wanting to keep the USA divided or you can ignore and move on.

Personally, I'm taking the later. And that includes not giving time to people being divisive on either side, "left" or "right".

Gaetz is too divisive but Trump is ok.....seriously? Are you aware of how far to the right the folks that control Trump are?

So Trump is going to end up around 71-75 million votes as I expected, slightly less than 2020. The ballot harvesting was mitigated through legal actions and other reasons, and the democratic numbers went right back to where they were before. Shocking I tell you.

Sure didn't take the divisive fighting part to start in here again. Dang, I wish people would unify, but alrighty.

To each their own.

Divisive fighting? Nah. Imma sit back and watch the trump train wreck begin affecting everyone's lives who thought it was a good idea to re-elect him. I hope I don't have to but I'll be ready with the I told you so when those tariffs kick in

Trump has no desire to unify....he will start his term by attacking those he thinks are against him. Magas are not interested in unifying you think Trump won because he was a uniter? He won by promising ro go after the enemy within etc....Trump ran on hate and fear.

Big win last night for UAP disclosure. If Trump wants to become a Titan, this is his hill to plant his flag on
Biggest question going forward awaits us. Will the "D" get the message and move away from Obama politics

My short and quick postmortem at 6am:

I haven't gone in-depth on the numbers yet, and probably won't for a couple days, so this is mainly based on vibes and what I saw last night.

I think two things were very clear last night, minorities went more for Trump than was expected, especially Hispanics, and Harris was an awful candidate. Not Hillary awful, as her problem was being incredibly unlikable, but not having a platform other than 'orange man bad and banning abortion bad.'

People like Gavin Newsom and Pete Buttigieg are probably kicking themselves for not being more assertive in getting themselves into the race when it was clear Biden was not the answer and Harris was elevated with no fight by anyone. I'm not saying Newsom would have done much better as he is just as far left as Harris, but at least he would have had a platform that made sense and that he could eloquently defend. What the Dems needed was a moderate, relatively youthful candidate who was actually able to use charisma and intelligence to get his policies across. That to me is Buttigieg.

Dems have some tough choices to make between now and 2028. They have presented some pretty bad candidates since Obama and they need to take a step back and wonder why that is. I suspect we'll see Newsom/Buttigieg/Shapiro going at it in 2028.

Edit: Harris also shot herself in the foot by the absolute lack of (non-softball) interviews. But it seems clear now she avoided them for a reason: she's not good at them. I cannot stress what charisma can do for a candidate, just look at Trump.

This is the guy Trump is going to put in charge of our health care systems...

As nutty as the guy may sometimes be, Europe doesn't use it as much as we do and they are much healthier over there than we are here. Honestly if he can ban a lot of what Europe has in food products I'd have to give him a win because we put so much Europe considers bad in our food it's nuts and likely why we're such a fat nation eating puffed corn and corn syrup.

I wonder how much lobbying goes on in Europe because they pretty much own congress here.

Even fast food like Taco Bell and McDonalds supposedly tastes better & is healthier overseas. I'm ready to pay a little more for better quality of health overall.

So Harris with only 65 million votes so far?? Joe got 81 million. I wonder what happened to the other 16 million???🤔

I'm not so sure things were nefarious so much as tons of people were bored via being locked inside due to COVID and sent ballots automatically by default. Especially those in lower income areas who may not vote always because of health issues, transportation, etc.

It's actually pretty nuts to look at this and see basically the entire county go redder than 2020, even in blue states. Shows voters rejected Harris at the polls. Curious to see what this means going forward.
