Pattern December, Make analogs relevant again

Yay! I finally bullseye! There's a dark purple dot over my house in the upstate!! This gonna be good! 1058 high dropping out of Canada after the storm!

Well in any case it doesn't look like this is the winter storm many on the board, including Atlanta. Doesn't look like much of a winter storm at all mostly cold rain. Don't think it'll get any colder to change it around.

I wouldn't say that at all, Atlanta and points NE should be keeping a close eye on this, because it would take next to nothing verbatim to give the metro area a big ice storm

Ice storm remains on the table...Going to be interesting CAD setup depending on strength of the HP in the NE this very well could extend over into E AL and N GA esp in the higher terrain seen it numerous times. Outside of this possible event not seeing much hope for wintry precip of any consequence for other areas in this pattern setup...

...Carry on

Thanks, Eric! Hopefully there's another system after this and cold enough for a snowier, broader event. Thanks for reminding me not to take the GFS too verbatim once again.

Columbia and the Midlands would definitely be in the mix with a look like this and the always underestimating the models do of the CAD

Just checked the temps...yeah while it's rain outside NC/Upstate SC/NE GA considering how CAD often seems to have a mind of it's own, a lot of us are in the mix... At the very least there's plenty of NE GA/Upstate SC/NC members so it's not like this isn't worth watching.

The one we have our eyes on the most...pretty much no chance this one is anything but ice south of NC. If there's another one that follows, that one could be snow...but we're talking about close to/in lala land.

Yes, if you took a look at my post about the soundings in Lexington for the 12z GFS, I was saying the exact same thing based on dewpoints alone. It's a major ice storm down to at least Orangeburg. Regardless of what the maps and accumulation show you.

Would be nice if we could get the 850s to cooperate down here. Even nicer if we could get SLP to track across central Florida. A lot of potential nonetheless.

Yeh i saw that post you did. Will be exciting if we can manage one since me and you are in the same areas. I'm over here in the Oak grove area near the barn yard flee market.

I'm about 20 min from there. Spent a large portion of my childhood at Skate Station and at a friend's house in the Grove.

Can't say I've ever seen anything like the Euro is spitting out. 3 chances at blockbuster winter storms in the next 340 hours. Jeebus
