Good grief
Always a step down process!!???This place is going to be jumping soon. The highs and lows are going to be epic. It's going to test some people's patience I'm sure because the Mid Atlantic will probably get hit over and over while we patiently wait our turn. I hope not but seems like big daddy -NAO events always favor them early on instead of the SE.
Yea dude we are golden. Brick should start salting his elderly neighbor's sidewalks and driveways tonight if he hasn't already.Mid/late December is such a stone cold lock, even we can’t possibly mess it up

I haven’t been able to use that style sled since 2001 ?

Dec 26. 2010, what a stormNo it didn’t take that long that year. The NW NC Piedmont and Foothills had a significant snowfall on 12/4/2010 and there were a couple more smaller systems in the climo favored areas and small icing event for the Piedmont around 12/17. Then of course there was a big storm that moved in on Christmas Day and continued for most of the day after. The pattern was very active that December
I got in on that deform band as the coastal low started cranking up early in the morning on the 26th… I was only in it for a couple hours but it was some of the best rates I’ve ever seen. Of the 6.2” I got from that storm 4.7” fell between 4am and 6am.
The heaviest snows with that storm just seemed to skip right over southern Mecklenburg County. I think it had to do with the way energy transferred to the coast to form the new low. CLT only had 2” while over my way in eastern Union County we had around 6.It was good because I went to the mountains skiing, and it snowed all day and all the way home. It was very disappointing because when I got home to clt, had a couple melty inches. Not quite cold enough. That won't happen this time though right?
Got 4.5-5” of snow with that storm. I was still happy with it and somehow got a lightning strike with it at the very end I still remember that thundersnow to this dayThe heaviest snows with that storm just seemed to skip right over southern Mecklenburg County. Yeah I got in it big time, amazing rates, 11" total.... can we get a repeat please ?I got in on that deform band as the coastal low started cranking up early in the morning on the 26th… I was only in it for a couple hours but it was some of the best rates I’ve ever seen. Nothing wrong with that storm. Christmas was on a Saturday and then got to enjoy the day after sledding with my two oldest kids with temps in the 20s as a steady light snow fell all dayGot 4.5-5” of snow with that storm. Talking about Christmas storm 2010, that one was a lock from a week out over on AmericanWX. Then local mets talked about it like it was a sure thing for 5 days before it happened. It was a no doubter. Primetime setup. Someone post some forecast maps.Man what’s coming up, it’s more exciting then usual because it’s been such a long time since a good pattern occurred in December

I mean it’s not just been that we’ve not had a good pattern in December… we’ve had very little in the way of cold air. Christmas Day in shorts and flip flops is getting a little oldMan what’s coming up, it’s more exciting then usual because it’s been such a long time since a good pattern occurred in December
You ready for another trip to Cashiers? We need another repeat of last yearThat time is nearing but we haven’t made it quite yet. I need to see Storm5 and Dadofjax going at it, then it will be time.
You should check in with your therapist about thisPretty good signal for decent cold mid monthView attachment 124444View attachment 124445
Don’t forget when the models basically lost the storm on the 23rd and had most of us staying dry and then they started bringing it back in the morning on Christmas EveTalking about Christmas storm 2010, that one was a lock from a week out over on AmericanWX. Back in the day every time I would try to save a DGEX snowmap on my flip phone, it would overheat because it couldn’t handle the 10,000 color pixels from all of the snow shadesWhat is the DGEX showing?
