Looks like it might hold together
Not a dang thing. No hail at all, winds were light at best. Glad for no property damage, but the NWS had me rearranging my garage at 1am and to fit my truck and Jeep in due to threats of ping pong size hail.

Well at least you're yard got some love

I wish I hadn't been completely out of it last night, would have loved to get some pics. Had to be pretty decent sized hail, it just sounded different from past storms. Someone on Twitter in a neighborhood just south of me showed close to the size of a ping pong ball, not sure how accurate or common that was.

Branches are down and leaves are shredded all over the place.

Was also some of the most intense lightning I've seen, just non-stop.

Looks like I had a bit of a heat burst last night with the storms.

We had one at PGV....

That's impressive.

I just checked and same here apparently, shot up to 76 at 2:30 AM but absolutely 0 raindrops. Some nice lightning though
I have no idea if it was related to the storms TBH but I see the nice little spike at 2:30

Looks like a lot of stations did the bump last night. We did have a somewhat rare for us airmass yesterday more similar to what you would see in the plains. If we had a real mcv moving through the flow or just more overall forcing we were pretty ripe for a higher end widespread severe event

Pic didn't post but this is the spike I saw

I got this one. DP dip was quite noticeable. And the highest wind gust was just shy of 20. Several small branches down.

Does anyone have a saved gif of the storm rolling through Garner? When I went to bed the line was over Durham and looked like it was about to split and go around us.

Curious to see the development from that point to what we ultimately got.

Out riding around and several big trees and lots of limbs down about 4 miles northwest of my house. Wow

The previous post shows some of the storm damage after last night's severe thunderstorm near Lake Wheeler. This storm did more damage than the December 2002 ice storm or Fran to my yard. I believe the broken tree limbs were the result of a microburst or downdraft.

A heat burst makes since. I was watching the storm come towards me at work and it went from a severe warned nasty looking cell to collapsed in a frame. Can anyone run a gif when it went through Pitt county?

Interesting enough, while RDU was breaking daily records with a high of 96 degrees, here in South Raleigh near Lake Wheeler the highest temperature I've seen here is 88. I have two thermometers a mercury and a digital one with a weather station and there is only a one degree difference between them so I'm pretty sure they are accurate or at least close. Those severe storms must have done something to the atmosphere in this area at least. I'm glad it wasn't 96 here, that would have made the damage cleanup even more miserable.

I'm about 7ish miles south of you and my Tempest got up to 92.3 for the high today. I only got about .14" of rain last night. The winds toward your area were worse than here.
