I'm still in disbelief at what these models are showing here
Over 10 inches on the GEFS mean and it's been increasing! The foot has been nudging closer to me from Missouri too

I could be wrong but those pivotal maps are likely taking in any ice or sleet into account as snow.
This one is probably a bit more representative of what it’s showing for snow, which is still mighty impressive.

I moved to Tulsa in March ?
Yeah maybe it does include sleet but it's still something to save that's for sure ???
Actually I think the pivotal maps show it less than TT. I've been comparing the GFS op maps and it's always been lower amounts than the TT maps. Still might include some but not as much
In any case we'll see the high end predictions are always gonna be just a less likely option but just to see it modeled

UKMET would’ve been a significant ice storm for area N&W of 40/85 in the Triad and N&W of 85 in the triangle.

You have to love seeing that artic front laying down a snowpack as it pushes south. The N. America snow cover will likely be at its seasonal maximum by the time this system is gone.

12z GFS is nearly at a 48 hour event for you. Snow continues into Thursday night on it. Long duration indeed.
@Brent @BufordWX et. all. Must admit I am a little envious ... it has been years since I have a major event and I have never seen anything like what is predicted for you all. Hopefully the models nail it and you have a great event and the lights stay on. The fun (and anxious) part is the anticipation. Enjoy it and good luck!

Thanks and what's funny and sad is if even we only get 5-6 inches that's still better than I've seen since I was a kid ?

Soundings showed me at 35 degrees by 132 with about half an inch or more of QPF by 144. Looked like all rain south of 85.

Canadian model depicting a terrible Ice Storm for portions of the Mid-South including Northwest MS as well as Memphis. Over 1 inch in and along the upper MS Delta.

The cmc overhypes cold and precipitation. Dont put much stock in it yet

06z only goes out 90 hours this is what it has at the end.
The 06z euro control goes out a bit further and this is what it had for snow.

Any thoughts on the EURO? The 0Z is pretty much in the same ballpark with rates as the CMC is showing.

No specific maps, but it does have some IP/ZR near Memphis and places North and West.

Definitely shades of 2011. The biggest snowstorm in Tulsa history(14 inches) and there was a blizzard warning then

12Z EURO looks like its moving toward a GFS solution in holding the Ice further back to the Northwest of Memphis.

Definetly trending southward! , Tennessee might get them a decent snow storm. Very intriguing. The NAM shows the energy being slower at digging south than the globals

Would expect this low pressure system to be south of a line from Montgomery/Selma going off history. Low pressure systems never reside in central Alabama usually only Northwest or south. For some reason the gulf loves to pull these low pressure systems further south

I think Dallas is out of the clear if the euro is to be believed. Guess it's good to have a generator though
